Lynch just gave a PR answer so the reporters would not hound him continuously about when Boas will play. A high ankle sprain answer implies several weeks. Which in turn lets the Niners float by on him not playing in the preseason.

My 49ers injury anxiety is at an all time high. I legit cross my fingers when I open this site and twitter every time now. We need some good luck.
On another note, I'm f**king scared, I need someone to hold me, pet my head and go shhhhh everything's gonna be alright Matt. Is that too much to ask?

"Then reassess". I'm guessing he returns after the bye. The new training staff will want to play it safe. They don't want to have another Breida situation where the injury keeps getting reaggravated

Thankfully, pile ups and players falling on your legs don't happen throughout the course of a NFL season, so I feel better knowing it was once in a blue moon type of thing.
Let's just hope he's good to go for game 4 and doesn't linger throughout the season.

Now we're back to the injury prone thing. I don't think that guys are injury prone. Some just have a run of bad luck and others get hurt more because they're always around the ball in the middle of players falling down. That's what happened to Nick. The only way to avoid that possibility is to stay away from the action and if a player does that then he's not long for a job. What's important is how fast he recovers because he's always going to be in the middle of things.

Myles Garrett had a high ankle sprain his rookie season and played in a game 31 days later.
Bosa's sprain happened 32 days before the opener in Tampa.
There's hope.
