If we can continue winning without Bosa, why is he consuming so much cap space?

Because we need him to beat the top offenses in the league.

We beat the top offense (Rams) without him.

Bosa played that game

lol classic
Bosa makes us better on the pass rush add setting the edge. We need him in the post season

if this is this the last year of his contract(guarantee), if anything his unavailability is bringing his value down. No one is going to sign him to a 5yr deal and we're not taking that 50mill hit in 2027.

Bosa needs to ball out to close this year if he wants another payday otherwise he will end up like his big bro as a mercenary taking 1-2 year deals for multiple teams.

I really think this will be his last year with us especially if we get the Super Bowl. Just way to expensive at this point.

I think the question is he's healthy enough to be back on the field at all.
They are saying he might be back for Monday, with the return of Mykel, the rise of both White and Halton we might have only seen a glimpse of what Morris can do with this defense.

Yes it is and yes we have others who are getting to the QB, however we are much better with him out there.
We are better with him than without him this season. But in the offseason, it might be time to move on. Just too many injuries and the organization is probably tired of worrying if he will get injured on every play.

Availability is better than ability
If he practices today, does he play? We shall see in a hour or so

Don't forget about the free agent find that is Sebastian Valdez. He's starting to show up as well. Both Halton and Valdez will make you forget the two DT's the 49ers drafted last season very quickly. Which isn't good for them. They had better buck up. Because by the time they come back, they may find that two other players have taken up all the opportunity that once existed.
$54 million cap hit next year. What's the dead money if he quits or gets cut? This subject wouldn't be coming up if he wasn't so injured. Those big contracts-it's buyer beware.

Production has dropped of as well, did not live up to the contract.

They free up 32 million if it's a post June 1 designation.

strange because on the very first snap of the game he pushed the right tackle to the ground and tackled the runner for a loss. that was very hard to miss.
