Agreed.

There is no way to ignore the fact that he is made of glass. Availability is better than ability. The organization probably holds their breathe everytime he takes the field.

Bosa either takes a pay cut (49ers should still draft his replacement ASAP) or he's gone.

He doesn't deserve a raise.

Doing great without him.

way to expensive to be injured every year, can't have all that money on the bench each week.

I am curious if he would stay on a more realistic deal. I can't imagine any other team paying much more than we would.

Last year at this time we had 7 sacks, this year we have 15 sacks and we are undefeated without him. I don't think we can justify his cap number without looking irresponsible.
This early season Group pass rush success will be a huge factor in the 2027 decision on Bosa.
The 9ers can't ignore that all their trying to get a DE opposite Bosa didn't move the needle, but this group effort DL has.
And now with Bosa being an injury risk -- he's older and maybe no longer able to give you a full season - heck maybe 10 games a season? What do they do with his restructuring? He is due a huge cap number in 2027 -- $54.9MM. If they can't reach agreement and release him as a post-June 1 cut - its a $22MM dead cap hit, but a $34MM cap savings! They could sign a pretty good DE for $30MM that might give them more than 10 games of availability.

I see a restructuring contract battle with Bosa looming. Maybe they actually trade him before the draft??

He's not "injured every year"

He's in his 7th year, and he will have missed 2 seasons due to an ACL injury early in the season. If he comes back next week and finishes the year healthy, he will have played in 13/17 games this season.

There is little correlation between age and injury. Injury's for the most part, kinda happen. Age becomes a concern when players lose explosiveness and can no longer athletically perform at the same level as before.

Bosa didn't record any sacks in Weeks 1 & 2, but he was explosive getting off the ball and causing havoc. He hasn't lost a step.

No DE close to Bosa's caliber will be available able at $30mm/yr, unfortunately the market at DE has exploded and top edge rushers will be commanding $45m+/yr. I'm not necessarily saying you pay Bosa that much, but I also don't think anyone else will, either.
Trade him and a first for TJ
I don't want him returning this week. Falcons play on turf. Give him the extra 2 weeks.

He is always missing games due to injury
Nick Bosa, elite on the grass,
But us fans know he is made of glass;
So he is rarely on the grass.

Bosa is elite and absolutely not going to be traded.
