Don't have a real issue with this but do want to know which dummy had him outside the top 10 rankings.

Also as an overall edge defender(not just pass rusher) Bosa is definitely better than Watt and Parsons.

I think Bosa is better than Parsons, I think Watt might be a little better than Bosa. They're all legit level pass rushers. Glad we got one lol

QB, LT, Pass rusher

Gee ... I wonder what the top 3 paid positions are in the NFL?

IMO, Micah is #2 if we're talking purely pass rushing. Other than that, I agree with the order.

Nick is a better all-around player than all of them except Myles, tho.

Kind of crazy how quickly the contract values have jumped.
Yeah 47 a year for a 1 trick pony is crazy I honestly don't believe it. I want to see the language in the contract, I hope it is though

we should start thinking/planning about what we can get in a trade next year, because he is gonna want to restructure his contract with that big of a difference to his competitors right now.

He's getting ~$42M next year.

you mean $47,000,000.01 next year, after we restructure to make him happy.
No doubt Bosa will hold out next off season.

I wouldnt give Bosa $50 million per year, not worth it. I would trade him for a package like what the cowboys got for Parsons in a heart beat.

Terrible trade. Bust after bust for 1st round DEs. They are nearly as important as QBs. You don't let them walk unless you get insane value, of which the cowboys did not
Bosa's contract kind of feels like a deal now lol

Not only is he making noticeably less than Myles Garrett, TJ Watt and now Micah Parsons… but Bosa is pretty much the only one who actually shows up in big games. The other three each have one playoff sack, and it's not like they don't make the playoffs routinely—all three have played in 3-4 playoff games each.

Parsons/Garrett/Watt have a combined 3 playoff sacks in 11 games.

Bosa has 10 playoff sacks in 12 games.

Yes it was a number nobody touched for a while and then this offseason it became a bit of a bargain.

I'll be curious to see the details of the Parsons contract but it likely means bad things for us down the road. Not sure Nick will have a good basis for holding out next offseason but you never know. If Parsons' numbers stand Nick and his team certainly have a good case that no way is he $13 mil per season less than Parsons.

Then the question will be do the 49ers give in and keep Nick...or do we move him? Either way I hope Nick plays like it's a contract year for him. We can sort it out next offseason.

And Bosa's production in the postseason is crazy good. He was in the top 40 career playoff sacks after his first 3 seasons(we didn't make the playoffs in 2020)

They really tried to avoid the guy in 2022 and he's at 10 now. Tied for 19th in the NFL.

I'm hoping he "settles" for $39-40M a year next offseason, maybe tack on an extra year or two.

EDIT: on second thought… in 2026-2028 we're set to pay him $42M, $52M and $43M respectively. That pretty much covers it already, no?
