What a bummer..
the one full season we got from him is when we had our starting qb out. How are the gods so cruel

DeAndre Baker
Daryl Worley

Mackenzie Alexander
Tavon Young
Trae Waynes
Rashard Robinson

I feel like several of those players are better than Ambry. Not sold on Lenoir either.

Why aren't they on a roster yet Thomas is? Not a damn good cb will be on their couch right now if they were "good" that's why I also get a kick when people say we need an olineman as if a good one is out on the street at this time. Trade deadline is gone this is the team we sink or swim with

I think its just as silly to assume a veteran FA would be worse than a second-year player than it would be to assume the FA would come in and play better.

I'm not saying its certain that we could find an upgrade, but Ambry being a high draft pick certainly factors into your question.

And Bosa

The year we had non stop injuries and lost Bosa for the year, just brutal
Time to retire. His body was just not made to play the game.
I was so looking forward to him playing, especially since we were ramping him up for the past couple of weeks. This is devastating for him and us because now we don't have a good second corner. At this point I would almost want to play Womack on the outside if anything happens to Lenoir. This is going to hurt our chances in the playoffs because most of the good teams have multiple good receivers.

Yeah, I feel bad for him. Great talent and determination but body couldn't keep up with the grind.
AWFUL FOR JASON! SEEMS LIKE OUR ORGANIZATION REALLY VALUES HIM. MAYBE STAY ON AS A DB CONSULTANT OR SOMETHING
THE YOUNG GUYS NEED TO STEP UP!

It's almost like something cosmic is working against this guy. This is most likely the end of the road......at least here. Him being healthy certainly would have helped, but I think we still have enough to win most of the remaining games. This really sucks for Jason though.
My mental deep playoff hopes had a cornerstone of Verrett coming back and playing well.
Talking about bad luck. Just brutal. When healthy he was a top corner. I wish him a speedy recovery, and good luck.
sucks

Not sure but I looked at his injury history nd it looks like a curriculum for an orthopedic surgeon.
Torn labrum in each shoulder.
Torn ACL in each knee
Two torn achilles tendons.
Two major hamstring pulls
Thigh muscle tear

Plus several smaller injuries that only caused him to miss 1 or 2 games.

I give this guy all the credit in the world for loving the game so much that he was willing to keep going through all that rehab. I know he's getting paid but not that much. It has to be purely the desire to play that keeps him going. The only good thing about all those injuries is he didn't play that much so he'll get out of the game without brain damage.

Hard to even read all of that, let alone imagine going through it. Good lord. Prayers up for Verrett. I hope he's able to walk away feeling like he gave it his all. Or mount a comeback story for the ages.

Mine didn't. A month or so back I stated here that we should have zero hope that he will come back and contribute at all. I do not think he would have been the same player and I don't think this changes much to be honest. We are still making a deep run.
