Despite what people think, Lynch, Shanny, and Company won't sit pat, they're not Baalke, they've shown willingness to spend, whether people liked the signings or not, they at least spent money. I see a potential DeFo extension.

Dude, that would be a terrific off season. I'd be elated with that. Faithful!

If they can get 3-4 starters in FA I'd be so happy. Even if they get 3 and then AB in a trade, that'll work. It will go a long way towards our ultimate goal. Get a key weapon for Jimmy, and more talent on defense. Also add some depth at LB and DB, also some ST guys. Then draft BPA, I'm leaning towards Josh Allen at 2 if Bosa is gone.

FTR, Dallas supposedly wants him as much as he wants them. If we slightly outbid them, i bet he goes to Dallas. And i can't see us getting in a bidding war wth Dallas, esp after the injury last 2 seasons. Also age.

AB completely agree with your FA dreams/wants. One starter DB, starter LBs (Plural) , probably 2nd tier ER, OG, and Antonio Brown trade. If we get 3 or more 4 of those and several at least and maybe 3 are $10 mil +/ yr...well it would be cause for celebration. How well we do depends if paraag has no say in the $10+ mil/ yr guys who are the ones we desperately need. Except for ERs in FA, all others need to be starters. 2nd tier won't be adequate. Any chance you think paraag drags his feet on that?

Then if that should happen , ie 3 or 4 of the above, we would be in perfect position to have a fantastic draft. If we come up empty in FA, or get say 1 starter elite, then our draft won't be much shucks either. But if we finally hit big (as in go big in $$), then draft will be a snap and just to fill out our dance card. Oh, and AB in trade...which will cost us at least a #3 and maybe more.

Could it really be that simple? Nah, i don't think so either. But this is the FA to finally break thru the glass ceiling with FAs of the $10+ mil category, and even if paraag doesn't know it, Elites salaries are in that range.(floor of $10 mil). Have no doubt JL will do it. I am just hoping paraag doesnt get invovled here. He can do contracts but should NOT be involved in what JL and kyle can/can't spend. 3-4, bro, 3-4 of those top flite/elite positions listed, and we are in business. If not, then it won't be much different than times past and that would truly be a shame.

We know the needs, the players are there, now we just need to spend the money...wisely...but still, actually spend on several big tix items.

I would love to see John Lynch vs. Jerry Jones in a bidding war for ET3.
So my thoughts aren't necessarily about positions, but that we need to improve aspects of what the team does in general. So Improving pass offense, and pass defense as those are the most important aspects of team success. So players who help in this regard are the ones that should be targeted. I'd love for them to target a really good right guard, but I see them wanting to give Garnett one more shot at the position, he very well could win. I see them going in the draft for CB, free agency is especially weak. I think the Seattle connection is strong and they'll take a shot at Et, but even if we outbid them I imagine he signs with Dallas.

From the HP article by David Bonilla.

There are options for the 49ers, but Steve Wyche of NFL Network knows the focus in the draft is to improve the edge of the defensive line.

"You won't talk to anybody within that organization who won't tell you that they've been patient with John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan," Wyche said on Up to the Minute. "But they do want to get a pass rusher. I've spoken to people there.

"So if you're Arizona, when you're coming out of the combine, you better be hyping up [Nick] Bosa or Rashan Gary, one of these players, to maybe see if you can get the 49ers to come up a spot if they're sweet on one of those players if that's the route they want to go."

"But their most important emphasis when it comes to the draft is to get that pass rusher and fill in some other spots on defense," Wyche continued. "So that's likely where they're going to go even though they've drafted heavy on the defensive line the past three seasons."

Not bad, we'd get one of the best FA Safeties in Amos, Plus 4 other potential starters, love Moncrief, always have.

One thing, it looks like Dillard will be a 1st rd pick, or 2nd rd at worse.

Yeaaaah, just checked that. The big board I used was from late January.

That would be a great offseason. However I don't think they are going to give a good chunk of change to Moncrief and not have him start

No worries, maybe switch Dillard to 2nd, Amani to 3rd, and Riley to 4th.

I doubt Moncrief gets a large contract. His numbers arent all that great the last couple years. I figured he would compete with ridley. Just like akhello would compete with amani. Could realistically go either way.
Yeah I don't think Moncrief will get a ton of money. Tate and Williams will be the biggest names to get the most money at WR.

No question.
The team already passed on Moncrief once during free agency. I don't see why they would sign him this time around.

Chris Conley is a WR I could see the team having interest in. Dude is a SPARQ monster.

True, is extremely athletic. Problem is he's a production runt. The FA WR market is going to be so thin, he's going to get overpaid IMO.
