They can cut him right now and he gets nothing this season from the 9ers. They want to trade him for pick(s) because he still has value. Once he goes to a crappy team desperate for a QB, his stock will be descending, especially if the players around him is crap then he won't be earning 26M a year again. Deebo is getting his 49er ~26M this season and forward once he signs an extension.

They can't cut him just yet I don't think. He's currently listed as 'Injured' and his sneaky agent pulled that last minute shoulder surgery at to guarantee that if Jimmy gets cut prior to July he's gets a settlement of $7M. We have to wait at least until then.

However, Jimmy may have hurt his own stock, or maybe his agent did his homework and determined that Jimmy wasn't even worth that in the open market.

Deebo won't be getting $26 M. Maybe $20 if he's lucky and knowing our team, who have saved us from bad deals except Dee Ford, they didn't offer Deebo enough guaranteed money. That and we don't have it until Jimmy is purged.

Deebo can't go anywhere if we don't allow it. He's under contract this year and we can tag him in 2023, and I think again in 2024.

I mostly agree. I think if they cannot get something done by the start of the season they'll trade him by next draft. Where hopefully there will be a stronger draft class.
