Seriously. Nobody is expecting us to with 12-13 games and win the Super Bowl. We're excited and optimistic about the drastic improvements throughout the team. We also can realistically think we're probably another year away but if some things break right (health, young players develop, Jimmy G is elite) then we could compete for a playoff spot.

We're also being realistic knowing we won our last 5 games last year and ALSO lost 5 straight games by 3 points or less with Brian Hoyer as our QB. Nothing is guaranteed and previous season results of course don't carry over. But if this team wins 7 games I won't be surprised and if we win 10 games I won't be surprised.

We won't be competing again for like decades! Don't shoot the messenger it's just a fact! I'm being truthful and I'm the realest of the real bunch by predicting we won't be relevant again until 2050!

You're probably right on the 2 years.

IMO, we'll just miss the playoffs this year - we have a tough schedule.

By year 3 of the rebuild well be in the playoffs and contending to get to SB.

All of that changes if we get an effective ER.

Then the timetable moves up.

Whether we trade for Fowler or not (his contract is up after this season), we need to go all out for an edge next offseason. There's a multitude of really good free agents (some will be tagged, yes. At least one should hit the market though) and the draft is rich with them. The last two offseasons haven't really provided us with a good opportunity to get an edge, but next offseason is the year where if we can't get one, there's no longer any excuse.

There will also be a few pass rushers available when the teams complete the final countdown and a trade or a waiver pickup is possible if they feel it's necessary. This team is structured much like the 1981 team. Remember FRED DEAN? Probably not.

lol, this is not 81, this is not the repeat of the 81 secondary team and aa is no fred dean. i love dean but he was no cedrick hardman which is besides the point. telling people to tap the brakes on the high expectations leveled at this team from some of the media and some of our own fans is not crying. and if you indeed have been a fan for so long. you should also know, what happened last year now means nothing anymore and we can not live off of... well we should win 11 games cuz we won 6 in a row last year
