I just sense that many of the starters on D will miss chunks of the season due to injury and our critical back ups are not of the highest quality.

Yup. put me down for 8-8 as well.

Too many concerns with penalties, RZ woes, total pass rush, OL time to gel and, of course, key injuries at inopportune times.
