Doubtful he even plays in the NFCG. What good does a week do? It's not like is he's not fully healed now but in 7 days will be fully healed. It's just gas from SF.

The issue is that they need to see how he responds from increased workload and this week was too short for that. They'll be able to track his soreness and how he feels and he'll continue doing his own workouts. If the 49ers beat Seattle then they'll have a lot more data to evaluate him on and be able to more accurately determine his statue for the conference championship.

This.

I wouldn't expect him to play until the SB at the earliest.

Soreness doesn't factor in a win or go home

but another week of bone knitting and hard callusing can be very beneficial to Fred's overall health. that's far more important.

Gotta take that time. It does factor if you are returning from injury and could re-injure yourself.
Per Ian Rapoport, Fred returning next week is up in the air "people close to the situation" have told him the Super Bowl is a more likely goal…

That makes sense. It was the earliest possible return time frame a few weeks back, so no surprise if the time frame is still around the Super Bowl.

I hope he can come back next week to help us get to the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl is the only reason why he should play. If you don't let the injury fully heal it can potentially become chronic. If I'm not mistaken that is part of why Willis retired early, he was pushing through a toe injury and it really messed him up
Yup it was all gas from SF lol
Seeing these Experian commercials with Warner & Puka hanging out and immediate thoughts are, "Warner, you're both BYU alums and friends…why didn't you jump and scream to Lynch & Shanahan to draft Puka???!!!" 🙂

Perfect response. Cowboys aren't a rival.

If nothing else Shanahan has given us dominance over the Cowboys and Packers.
Vibe in the room seems more like teammates than rivals lol

Puka should've been a Niner, man. I wish Fred said something to Shanny and Lynch about him because he said he knew Puka would be a star.
I love the way he plays the game. My favorite non-Niner player.
