Interesting that he was given the opportunity to say there was no chance for a playoff return and he didn't take it

If the doctor says he can resume light practices (including light sprints) in January, he'll do whatever it takes to play in (if we're lucky and sneak in) an NFCC game... just to knock off some rust, before a possible SB game. I'm not saying there's a good chance of any of this, but let's just see what doc and Fred says in the coming months

From The Athletic article:

Dr. Eric Giza, chief of orthopedic foot and ankle surgery at UC Davis and head physician for the Sacramento Republic FC soccer team, usually gives patients with similar injuries a 6-6-4 recovery timeline, he said. It will take six weeks for the ankle to heal, another six weeks of rehabilitation and four weeks of what he called restoration.

"At 12 weeks, you're rehabbed and you're ready to start fully training, and it takes four weeks to fully restore yourself," Giza said.

Giza, however, noted that professional athletes have access to treatment and technology a weekend pickleballer might not have. Warner could use underwater treadmills or so-called antigravity treadmills to begin rehabilitation sooner than normal. The antigravity treadmills use a pressurized air chamber to support an athlete's body and can "unweight" up to 80 percent of the patient's body weight.

"It's a little different than sitting on your couch with a cast on," Giza said.

Because of that, some athletes start training sooner than normal and can beat the usual timeline.

???? Talk about best case scenario. We have seen it with Jerry and TO, I'd love to be wrong about Fred's chances. If there's a player that can have that type of miraculous recovery, it would be him.

Could you imagine if the 49ers make it to the playoffs and Warner comes running in from out of the tunnel.

I thought about this, it would be an insane moral boost. It'd be like the return of Gandalf type shyt, that being said we don't stand a chance without a pass rusher

When it was announced as season ending, then reports are that he could return if they made a deep run into the playoffs....I have to admit....I first thought of Jerry Rice in 1997.

Yeah I know...different injuries/teams/circumstances/etc......I just want to see him back at the same level in 2026.
Love Fred's uplifting attitude. He's a warrior.
Tears up his ankle; shows up to the very next game to support his teammates. Legend.
