NC, you must be jelly watching the Chargers WRs. They're basically fielding a basketball team at WR lol.

Right in my backyard baby. Old school. People forget JR and JT were two of the bigger/physical WR's back in the day. Of course you needed to be back then...hammer time!
I'd bet everything that Kyle salivates over Tyreek Hill.

Oh yeah...so much you can do with him. I forget Kelvin Benjamin is in this game too. LOL
Big physical WR's win. LOL.

BTW: Antonio Gates looks like he's 380 pounds. Still ball'n.

Saleh likes your philosophy. Big everythang.

I wonder if Saleh has Baalke's old office. Maybe Baalke left his player profile scouting templates behind, and Saleh found it.

The mental images running through my mind right now are epic. Throw in some go-go-gadget long arms and ACL's and you've got yourself a 53.

Antonio Gates is 1 popeyes biscuit from being a DE.

For real. I couldn't believe he had a successful shake on that LB and got wide open. Dude still catches everything. It's crazy.

You're going to need to add left tackle to your list.

Heck yeah...got the 2nd pick earmarked for a top tier developmental LT. I want this kid to learn everything under the sun under Staley for a year.
NC, only two TEs? Three this season and the season before I believe.

Hey Paul...you mean in 'my off season plan?' Good call...I've vacillated on that one quite a bit. I'm fine either way but I kind of consider Juice as that 3rd. But Kyle does like 3.

Why would we cut Blair? He's played well. Also Garcon's 2019 year is an option year, if they decline they only save like $1.2M, Smith's number would be post June 1, meaning we don't get the cap room till June 2nd. Remember those smaller cuts don't count much as the top 51 count, and someone will take their spot making the same amount.

If they cut Garçon, Smith, Mitchell, Gilliam, and Coyle, what would their 2019 cap space be? Do you think they bring back AA at that price tag or can they negotiate something else?

Just those 5?

Salary Cap: We're projected to have $65.4M before cuts.

2019 Cap Cuts - Cap Savings:
Arik Armstead $9.05M
Pierre Garcon $6M
Garry Gilliam $5.05M
Cassius Marsh $4.2M
Malcolm Smith $4.05M
Earl Mitchell $3.7M
Brock Coyle $2.5M
Garrett Celek $2.1M
K'Wuan Williams $1.85M
Dekoda Watson $1.5M
C.J. BeatHard $786K
Ronald Blair $720K
Matt Dayes $645K
Trent Taylor $645K
James Onwualu $645K
Godwin Igwebuike $570K
J.P. Flynn $495K
Tarvarus McFadden $13K

2019 Total Cap: $81.9M or $86.7M

It depends on Garcon's deal and if we'll get back the $1.2M or $6M in cap space because of the opt-out in his contract.

Good question on AA. I'd love AB's thoughts on it too.

AA can be brought back at any number, I have a feeling they will keep him at the $9M number, and maybe work out a short term deal, he's not that bad a player, he is a good run defender, we just need better edge guys.

I think he will be too but then it makes the Taylor and Street draft picks a little more

The only problem is that if we keep a non-rush BE that means you need to find a SAM/ER (at least) who can rush next to him in nickel (or on that strong side) and that makes you more predictable compared to an every-down BE who can rush on any down. Dumervil did find some success in that role.

So would they have to eat that $9M or can they renegotiate a LT contract and lower that 2019 APY?
