Not all arguments are saying that. Mein own is that while Jimmy G is better, he's not 20 million dollars better. After this season, I think it may be the better move is to keep Mullens and let Jimmy go (assuming he refuses an pay cut), whilst never ceasing to draft QBs.
Alternatively trade Mullens for an 1st if possible, and if not whatever can be acquired.

Pick and choose pick and choose.
You can do what your saying with almost every quarterback in the NFL. Every qb has great games. They didn't "step up" they just had a good game.
Stepping up is when everything around u is going wrong except for yourself (the quarterback) you take the kids for a ride and carry the game yourself when asked to do so.

They rag on jimmy for his mobility yet want to replace him with a guy with a weak arm and 0 mobility, weird.
The post ACL mobility issue is something that doesn't get talked about enough. It looks like he lost some arm strength since 2017, and his footwork isn't always great, but the decrease in functional mobility may be the biggest issue post ACL. I hope he can get that back... looking at clips from 2017, he moved around in the pocket better on a consistent basis, and seemed faster when he took off. I think arm strength and other attributes suffer because of the mobility issue

not sure what there is to eye roll about when it's 100% true. but okay.

You Jimmy homers are funny. We are an elite team due to COACHING, RUNNING GAME and DEFENSE. Jimmy is good at leading the troops and managing the game plan. The issue with Jimmy lies when he is asked to TAKEOVER/WIN a game with his raw QB talents (ie, THROWING THE BALL). Until Jimmy can prove he is an ELITE thrower, we will continue to struggle in BIG GAMES.

To be completely honest with you, that game was the 1st Niners game I missed in the last 20yrs. SORRY!!!
With that said, Jimmy played a great game and performed ABOVE EXPECTATIONS......BUT the Saints have a horrible D and have for YEARS. They make a lot of AVERAGE QB's look ELITE. s**t, look at Alex Smith stats (when he played for us) from when he played vs the Saints and I think we can both agree that AS had/has obvious throwing limitations.
All I am trying to say is I NEED to see more from Jimmy as a pure thrower. I think he lost tons of confidence after his injury and he has to get that trust back. If Jimmy can't perform ABOVE AVERAGE CONSISTANTLY, I am willing to explore other QB options as they become available.
