Nothing you need to concern yourself with.

Then whats the point of this meaningless post about stuff that happened 40 years ago.

Go away, you still suck. Why do yo troll if you don't care? Jesus,

Im just asking the point of your post ? Are you saying shanny is gonna be like walsh ? No need to throw insults, i don't even know you.

Sorry I was just throwing this out there. It's not always easy to see how things turn out based on the way they start.

Any recollection of what the Bay Area media was saying up to the midseason point about the team? From what I have understood, the 79 team was putting up points and yards (respectable numbers), but not winning because the defense was awful. Is that a fair assessment?

Yeah a lot of talk about how bad the secondary was. 49ers then drafted 4 DBs in the first 5 rounds in 1981.
It will end up being an apt comparison as year one in rebuilding situations. This current incarnation of the organization will bring the 49ers back to an elite status. How quickly that happens will be determined by how soon we can acquire the right talent. It also will in part be determined by how (or whether) the existing talent develops. To say nothing of the free agents we may acquire. Sitting at 0-6 is obviously not ideal, but I am optimistic about the team's future. The team is competitive in every game and could easily have a winning record if a few breaks go their way. Much to be excited about for the future, just like that 1979 team.

As someone who was around then I can attest to the fact that the Niners could score on anyone but were a sieve on defense. That is why they drafted Ronnie Lott in Rd 1, Eric Wright in Rd 2, and Carlton Williamson in Rd 3. They immediately turned that defense around along with Fred Dean and Hacksaw Reynolds.

We all want instant super bowl wins but the reality is that it make take several years of rebuilding.

Yep, they were the same ones making comparisons between Tomsula and Walsh.

Someone wrote a good article after the 2015 season why Tomsula and Walsh aren't comparable. Something about offensive productivity.

Our offensive productivity this season is way better than 2015. And that's including the first two weeks when we essentially did nothing.
f**king Sus playing post monitor and of course the retarded ass C. Heston gif makes an appearance.....

Shanny doesn't have the experience to be bill Walsh. But thanks for the game by game. I remember we were the worst team in NFL by far. The deberg 6-10 season was a turn around but not really a prelude to the super bowl. That took an unbelievable triple snake eye draft with Lott Williamson wright plus signing Fred dean. But also a whole off season of Clarke Montana working on school yard stuff. Magic.

Hey, Clink, forty years ago is the reason anyone is here at all.

That, and Pat Justin et al. Until the York's blew that up too.

I'd say they had somewhat similar resumes before taking the pro football head coaching jobs:
