This was not called but is illegal Offensive PI. Ball is in the air while the WR is blocking the DB and the ball is caught in the "vicinity" of the block.

SoCold, those look like screen passes in those images you posted but I can't tell. In the KC play, do you think Juice was throwing a block?
Originally posted by SoCold:Yeah refs definitely thought he was blocking. There is no pick/rub element to this three route combination, I posted a pic on the previous page. I am positive of three things: Juice was not blocking, the defender on Juice had no intention of covering Kittle, the defender on Juice had no intention of covering the corner of the end zone.

It's a designed route to cut off the defenders path to the ball. Juice just did a horrible job of selling it by running right into the guy and pushing him back a yard. Prob because he's a FB used to blocking. If that's a WR he prob brushes the LB with a shoulder and runs right by him pulling him to the middle of the field.
I think the Refs thought he was blocking because that's what they called. lol

Juice's route just runs him into the defender, because the defender covered Juice well. I agree the way Juice put his arms up made it look like a block and that's probably what drew the flag. But I think refs need to understand what is going on so they don't look at things in a vacuum.
i mean.... the way KJ positions himself to brace for the contact with his hands up and his stance looks like he's going for a block. in my opinion. even though I know he wasnt.

that was vomit worthy

I mean, it wasn't a designed' route to cut the defender off. that's pretty obvious. however the only thing I would agree with is that KJ did himself no favors.

cut off as in taking that defender to another area of the field so he can't make a play on where the pass is going.

Why? You need the refs helped us win? But it is not fair.. it is not the real game. Refs must honest to watch the correct game. Refs didnt honest that they didnt throw the flags and screwed to the 49ers make lost game. Refs are wrong for dishonest game!![]()

still, it wasn't. half his route ran right into man coverage. but like I said Juice did himself no favors and if anything sold offensive PI when he shouldve sold defensive. shouldve never thrown his hands up like that
Originally posted by SoCold:Ooo I don't see it that way either. The defender completely defeated Juice's route based on his positioning. Had CJ targeted Juice and the pass hit the LB in the back, I think that's good defense. Defender has every right to be where he was.

Yeah that doesn't matter tho once you make contact.
It's all about location of contact and location of the ball.
Say if the pass was thrown at Juice and hits the LB in the back. Then the LB is blocking Juices route to the ball and defensive PI should be called.
