The 49ers didn't lose because of the refs, they lost because their a young team that is still shooting themselves in the foot via untimely drops, legit penalties, etc..
As far as the offensive pi goes, it was a terrible call. The only way you throw that flag is if Beathard throws the ball to Hyde and you can make the case that it was an illegal pick. Zach Brown (Redskins inside lb) said after the game that he ran into Garcon on purpose anticipating a pick. Either you don't throw a flag there or you throw it for defensive pi since the ball was thrown to Garcon and his progress to the ball was impeded.

I think having less talent than the other team is costing the 49ers a lot more games than the refs.

This, shouldn't be relying on the refs to win games.
I hate this argument. Can't you also say we shouldn't be relying on the refs to not make devastating calls for our offense? I mean, they put us in a 1st&20 hole out of FG position instead of 1&10 with the ability to run the ball 3 times to try and make the kick easier.

Why not? Our opponents are.
Brown said. "And I knew [Garcon] was going to pick me anyways, so I ran to him and I ran into him, but I was protecting myself too, and when he threw the flag, I was like 'Good flag, ref.' "

Agreed. I hate the overused line about not letting the refs decide the outcome if you play better. A ref crew can decide an entire game. They could easily make it that a team like the Browns beat the Pats. Pats throw a 70 yard TD! Nope... nullified by holding. Browns throw a pick returned for a TD! Nope... nullified by pass interference.
The league argues that each team gets penalties but if one team is consistently having them called in game changing situations, like constantly getting a first down from a third down penalty, versus minor infractions, like a special team penalty that still allows for 1st and 10, then it is not equal. I wish someone would track/police impact penalties versus meaningless ones. I bet the Niners would be in the top with impactful penalties and a team like the pats would be at the bottom. You could argue coaching but I bet there would be a trend with percentages.

Would like to see another angle, can't see the arm extension, but it looks like a standard out-breaking route. The DB is not impacted at all. Phantom call.
Yeah, that was a horrible flag to throw that late in the game.
Yup. Ball is on the Rams 39 if that stands. 1st and 10 with plenty of time. Gould gets a chance to win the game if not for that call.
That DB was playing the deep route. You can tell when the safety comes down to pic up Garcon. 23 can't get beat deep, so he plays back. NFW is that even close to a OPI. Its a perfect pattern and a 1st down.
#thursdaynightscrewjob
yeah that was crazy. Offensive PI my ass.
This was a really bad call. What made it worse was that it was the last minutes of the game. The refs highhandedly decided the outcome of the game.
Luckily it will be obvious to almost anyone that watched that the refs messed up bigtime. With ratings dipping and this being the first true exciting Thursday game in a while, I'm sure the league office isn't happy the refs impacted the outcome. Refs are doing a really inconsistent and horrible job lately.
Agree. That was a horrible call. And the missed pass interference before Hyde's final touchdown was bad too. We can't even get some favorable refs at home!
jed is too cheap to pay them off....
it all has to do with PI and OPI.... SB NON PI Call, Lambs/Foreskins OPI

We didnt lose the game cause the refs but we didnt even have a chance to kick fgs in the lambs/Foreskins game. Trent Taylor "pick" where he barely threw a lil elbow extension? Tie goes to the runner and youd think ESPECIALLY if that team is losing.
Definitely seems like NFL played calls to suit other teams they want doing well a lil. As long as we end up with an impact player in the next draft itll all be worth it EASILY.

at best 3-3. and ruining the draft. I would rather be where we are now. Having a team that can obviously compete, and a high draft pick. lets go ahead and have a winning record, think hoyer is the future, draft at 20 instead of 1-3, and have a false sense of where we really are lol... im good

I had the feeling the season had a chance to go like this or it would be like 2009/2010 fighting our asses off just to come up short of playoffs. THIS particular year im okay with not getting any love or play cause next year ill be f**king cumming all over anyone. I still get hyped watching games dont get it twisted.
Just cause you lose the boxing fight it doesnt mean you didnt do anything. Just send your opponent home thinking "They aint no slouches over there. Boys can play and are up and coming".
