You need to take a look at our injury history dating back to 2018. This is straight-up not even bad luck or even a big outlier anymore. It's a fact that we're doing something wrong. Name one other team in all of NFL history that lost all four QB's in one season, lost their two best defensive players within 6 games of another season, lost their OPOY before the season even started, and lost their starting QB within the first 3 weeks of the season four different times within three different QB's.

This is NOT normal. At all. It's not a "Indian burial ground" issue this is a fundamental conditioning issue.

No, I don't need to take a look at it. I'm not being paid to look at s**t.

I also know that improbabilities happen. Life is full of them, but people have a hard time accepting them.

All I'm saying is there's a clear pattern here and it can't be attributed to "improbability" or "voodoo" anymore.

If Purdy, Kittle and CMC don't make it through the season either would you even be a bit surprised? Even a little? I certainly wouldn't.
What pattern?

10 guys with staff infections - that's a pattern.

A guy with turf toe, a guy who years his ACL, a guy who breaks/dislocates his ankle - what pattern is there?

That's like saying three people who go out for lunch and one eats pasta, one eats tacos, and one eats salad is a pattern. No, all three eating pasta would be a pattern. The eating wouldn't be the pattern part.

🤣 🤣Don't necessarily agree with your statement but it does drive your point home.
The injuries have nothing to do with anything other than bad luck. Everyone wants to point thr finger at someone or something because assigning blame makes us feel better. There isn't a solution. It's just hope your luck evens out.
Who would have guessed that 67% of our cornerstone players, including our two best players overall would be injured this year:

  • Fred Warner
  • Nick Bosa
  • George Kittle
  • Brock Purdy

At least a broken-down CMC and Trent Williams are still out there huffing and puffing. If TW can find his second wind for one last time and CMC stays healthy and Kittle and Purdy come back 100%, it'll be an interesting but fun season for sure.
Denial is a hard thing to let go of

Why do they leave this thread unlocked? lol
Besides hurting your team's chances when key players go down to injury, it just sucks from a fans' standpoint as such players are a big reason why you enjoy watching the game so much. Warner & Bosa really hurt. Seeing them out their controlling things on D, causing havoc, and just playing excellent football is something I miss a lot already.
I'm telling you all.. it's the Shanny Injury Jinx.. it's so unfortunate, but it is what it is... he'll have to win his SB some place else.. . similar to Andy, Dungy and Chuckie...

This. Saying it's a conditioning issue, not reality, not common sense.
Hmmm . . . whose life here has been without challenges and hard times? It is part of life and sometimes it just seems to all pile up at the same time. That is when, if you know your course is right, you hold to it and at some point, life will ease and success will come. The key is never to get to high or to low, be consistent in one's approach to life. Love the Niners, have since 1972 when I was a kid but it's football, not life and death. Let's see how they handle this batch of adversity. That is more telling to me then overreacting to what has happen. It is what it is and nothing will change it. The Niners like most of us will just so the best they can in the circumstances they are in. Let's just hope it is good enough to carry them where we want them to go. If not, they will learn and grow from this.

I will say I wish they would scale back from 17 games to say 16 games and go back to 4 pre-season games. We moved to 17 in 2021 and isn't that about the time injuries starting hitting the team? Not saying it is the sole reason, but I find that interesting. Then if you go deep into the playoffs add those games and I do believe THAT takes a wear on the body with the intensity, size and speed of the modern game.
Another idea I haven't considered are rule changes over the last 5 years or so that have changed the game and could lead to more injuries. Just tyring to rational think of possible impacts. Last, a quick review (and I need to look more in depth) is that injuries are up in the NFL over the last 5 years or more according to the NFL and other sources. There has to be a correalation there somewhere and someone with the time could do an analysis and using data probably find some interesting data.
I don't necessarily agree with this theory, but statistics have us way over average on injuries. I would be fine with a full reshuffle of the training staff and methods our team is using during the offseason.

it dates back to 2013, when Michael Crabtree injured his Achilles in OTAs. that's when it started

or if you wanna go back even further, Justin Smith getting injured in the Patriots game on SNF in 2012. Defense fell off a cliff after that
