There is an article out there that the 49ers had an offer of a 2nd round pick for Kittle and they turned it down. If you were the GM would you have traded him? Keep in mind it could easily have been a team like KC which would have been offering a late 2nd.
Even a late 1st rounder wouldn't be worth it. Maybe a mid-round or earlier 1st rounder + a 2nd and a 3rd...
He was obviously was just extended by the FO so I'd assume they believe our SB window is still open. I do too.

No. Decent offer, but he's the heart of the team and has some tread left on the tires. We lost some quality players this year and it would have been demoralizing especially for the offense. We didn't use a lot of draft capital to help on that side of the ball and to lose kittle with not much OL help would spell trouble.

The cornerstones of this team are George Kittle and Fred Warner. You don't trade your cornerstones unless you are absolutely blown away by the offer.

Absolutely not and we were right to turn it down.

Have to say, there has been some really dumb stuff out there so far this off-season. Trading Kittle and trading Purdy are two of the dumbest. Wake me up when some plonker writes one saying that we should trade Bosa for a 3rd.

No, but only because of his contribution as a leader and the culture of the team. Football only wise, depends who was on the board. People complain about trading people too late and getting nothing in return because the value is gone. This is what it would feel like to trade someone that still has value. It's not easy lol

No way, we probably would have just blown the pick on the Javon Kinlaw of tight ends anyways.

Kittle Is far too good and Important to us to even consider trading him.

Add Bosa and Warner to that list.

Why would they do that? Kittle is a known commodity. He's the best all around TE in the game. He makes big plays. He's a team leader. Why take a chance on a 2nd round pick that could be a bust. I wouldn't trade him for a 1st rounder.

The "article" is from Grant Cohn and based on "information" from Dianna Russinni. That's kind of like saying "I heard two drunk whinos talking about something they read in The Enquirer".
