This. VD was a sensational tight end in his own right, one of the best in football for many years but Kittle is just on a whole other level. VD was never this good at any point in his career, Kittle is already a monster this early on.

Only thing Prime VD has was being faster, but Kittle Is DAMN fast so it's not really a big advantage.

Agreed. Davis was faster but in terms of converting that speed to big plays, it's Kittle and it's not even close. Kittle's down year, which was his rookie year, eclipses most of Davis's. The last 2 years, Davis isn't even in shouting distance. And I LOVED Davis and wasn't nearly as hard on him as others were. We are truly privileged to be able to see Kittle play. I only hope we can get some better O-line pass protection and a healthy Raheem Mostert because I think between those two guys, along with everyone else, we can see a 500+ points per year offense.

His play the last few years is really at an all time level for a TE. For most people, they need to see him do this for a decade, but not me. A really likeable guy to boot.

💯 Agree!!! To me VD was a soft diva and was more all about himself. He is very talented, but I just never had the confidence in him like I do with Kittles.

lol the webzone disrespecting a 49er great (again). SMH. I would take Kittle over Davis but it's a slight edge. Davis is probably the 49ers best TE ever had. (him or brent jones) Kittle will surpass both men within the next 5 years but Davis was pretty awesome too.

Not disrespecting just didn't have the confidence in him. He had suspect hands and would be missing in action on big games.

kittle is twice the player davis ever was.

So far davis has more tds on kittle only counting first 4 season obviously this season is still young. That's the only knock I have on kittle not many tds. Guys a beast though

In big games??? He set a playoff record for yards and he almost did it again in the playoffs. It doesn't get any bigger than that.

Within the next 5 years? Kittle is leaps and bounds better dude. I love VD but Kittle will be in the conversation with all time greats, not just 49er greats.

VD was good at best, he used to drop a lot of passes. kittle on the other hand, is a monster. you dont see kittle get hit like VD
