What were the pros and cons the doctors gave you regarding surgery? Enough cons to sway you to live with it?

I do need surgery, I've just been putting it off. I been getting cortisone shots and I take meds. I've been told even with surgery I'll still be in pain. They said it'll help but more than likely never be 💯

But have you dragged 3 full grown men 20 yards for a first down with the game on the line?

Only in my dreams! But I work for a commercial HVAC company and own my own residential company. I'm constantly roping up compressors on to rooftops, installing units, motors. Climbing in small attics in the Las Vegas summer heat.

I've had shoulder issues for years and I just do the shots or pain killers if it flares up. They advised surgery years ago but I elected to just put up with the pain. The truth is I fear surgery and being put under more than I fear pain. Maybe that's Kittle.

I don't want to embellish, so I'm not sure this was a regular thing but there are stories from former teammates of it happening. Riggins was the great Redskins running-back in the 80s. Lets just say there are drinkers, alcoholics, raging alcoholics, and John Riggins. He would show up full on drunk to practices, no-quite-sobered-up yet to games, and would actually tell his linemen to open holes but not too big. He didn't want to embarrass himself by getting caught from behind so he would plow through a small hole instead...and still end up with 160 yards in a game.

I feel like Kittle fits in with some of the 80's crazies more than the modern NFL. I mean, you could see him playing alongside Ronnie Lott (had part of a finger removed to play in a game) and Hacksaw Reynolds (got his nickname due to using a hacksaw to cut a car in half after losing a big game. Stories differ on whether it was his car, someone else's, in half or into small parts.)
