You sure?

"Yeah, we have some good competition there. We have six guys who I believe are all NFL players. Very rarely just six guys on our roster, if ever. So, we've got some good competition there. It's going to be tough for the coaches, but it's definitely a good problem to have. Speaking of Celek, he's done a great job. I've been a fan of him throughout his career. I remember studying him a couple years ago when I thought he was going to be a free agent. I think it was last year, but they ended up signing him before he went to the market. He's learning new stuff just like everyone else is, but that whole group in general is doing a real good job." - kyle

Not sure i would call him a freak athlete. You save those words for someone like Vernon Davis.

I hope he lands on the active roster. I like him more than Celek

I'm hoping we only keep two in Kittle and Paulsen with Juice as the move TE. Trade Celek if you can. Hikutini needs a year on the PS to refine as a blocker, weight train, get this offense down, etc.

Agreed, it's just being politically correct coach speak.

Look no further than how they reacted to the Vance McDonald trade rumors surfacing around the time of the draft. "Yeah, it's true, we did explore a trade, but we explore returns for everyone... we're excited to have Vance still here!"

Well, evidently they were not excited to have Vance around, because they just traded him for (essentially) the right to move up 10-15 spots in the 4th/5th round. I am skeptical about anything they say publicly, especially when it applies to players acquired by the previous regime.

I think Hikutini could play a red zone WR role for the squad this year if he is on the roster tough. I agree though, blocking and size will be huge for him if he can refine them this season on the PS

Yeah, any time you're talking about the 4th RB, 6th WR, 3rd S, 3rd TE, 3rd/4th ILB, etc. you're talking big time special teams players. So if he's berth great there, he'll have a legit shot at the 53.

Still amazed at how productive our draft class is shaping up to be...

And it's not jsut the number of keepers either...it is the QUALITY of those guys. There is real quality in RBs, Au Jus, WRs, TEs, OL(Magnus, Barnes, fusco, maybe Williams i hope),QBs,(both #1 and #3), Front 7 (two bona fide all pros), and then some very nice rotational guys in DJ, Mitch, Pita, Dooms). Question marks all tend to be in Dbackfield. Spoon?? No idea. Just hope. But the remainder...wow, what a haul between draft, FA, and UDFAs. Draft alone was spectacular, but add in FA and UDFA...zowie. Kyle adn John were both green, but look at their work, even this early in the season, nad you have to be impressed at their Efforts.. That's why if they cut a Vance...i just figure they have established their bona fides, and whatever they say....is fine by me.
