Okay. Then blame Kyle for the slow developing play or Fusco for whiffing on the block. Can't expect for Juice to pick up the yard all by himself with no blocking.
Relax, I didn't "blame" 44...I was making light of the ironic humor in someone making a goofy and way premature assessment of "Brent Beasley" to include the very situation he got stuffed*.
*DISCLAIMER: I fully recognize said "stuffed" play was poorly designed and executed, but in no way the fault of FB #44 Kyle Juszczyk.
Ohh my bad. I thought your original comment was meant to put blame on Juice for not getting that yard. Questionable playcall to ask the weak link on offense (interior OL) to win against the strength of that defense (defensive tackles).
So in first game he was involved in two memorable plays, both bad. First was the pass into R flat, either check down or intentional that hit him between the two 4s. Bullseye...and maybe he snuck a peek downfield, just before he caught it...er, dropped it. His error. Bid deal, one drop. Marquis dropped a gimme 40 yd TD. THAT was a big deal. Then the 2nd memorable Au Jus play was that ill conceived handoff over trent's butt, with a lateral run along the LOS to C/LG and then upfield. Jeez, where did kyle ever come up wiht that, unless that was all on Au Jus which i just don't believe. The fact neither beadles, Kilgore or fusco was blocking anyone should have been a flashing red lite, but kyle saw it differently. Maybe we see that play again next yr when we have at least one of the G-C-G slots blocking somebody. Maybe it works then. Now, not so much. OK, it was a piece of garbage call. It was also 3rd and short.
Kyle is a magnificent playcaller, but it is early on. One thing, though. Anyone given any thought to him being in responsibility overload as OC, and HC, when he is brand new just minted HC? I hope that is wrong, but maybe for first yr could he have taken on a bit too much with both jobs? I wonder if having an asst OC would help him a bit. Not saying this, just thinking out loud. Perhaps this is with the added caveat that this team was just flat out devoid of talent, and he's trying to bake a cake with no baking pans, no flour, no nada. That has to be a big part of this. FRankly in the heat of battle, I think he just overlooked the fact that G C G does not block.
