John Lynch on ESPN radio right now. Said some very interesting things-Lynch said that when we traded for Jimmy G, Kyle was sort of in mourning, Lynch claims Kyle's plan all along was to get Cousins in FA. Lynch said that Jimmy had to prove himself to Kyle. After seeing what Jimmy could do with what he called a very basic game plan and no experience with the system it finally convinced Kyle. Just amazing to see how well Jimmy played with dumb down version of the plays. He will be scary next year.
Thanks for this. It's interesting...you sometimes hear, "We'll see how Jimmy performs this year with teams preparing for him given they have more tape on him...". Sure, that's a valid point...yet the great QBs & coaches are always making their own adjustments accordingly. What cannot be overlooked about Jimmy's first few games in Shanahan's system is he was working with basic game plans and only had so much preparation time - yet he still performed at a high level. Looking forward to seeing what he can do in Shanahan's offense after an entire offseason and some better talent around him.
