Seattle not only had no serious injuries for any significant amount of time, they also got lucky as f**k that the 49ers were completely gutted by injuries by the end of the year, and lucky again that a fluffed up Patriots team got lucky and played the Bronco's without Bo Nix in the AFC Championship Game.

Let's call a spade a spade. We didn't take advantage of our opportunities to win when we had the chance. We led 2 SBs by 10 pts and couldn't close the opponent out (yea yea we were "unlucky" to face the greatest QB in the history of the world). We could've taken LA out as well but Shanahan shelled up when he was on the opponent's side of the field. And sure Brock's loss was no doubt the ultimate reason why we lost vs the Eagles. But imagine if Shanahan had thrown the red flag on the drive prior on 4th down when Devonta Smith dropped it then got up and rushed his offense to the line to snap it bf Kyle could throw a challenge flag. Sure we were "unlucky" that no replay was available but I'm sure a genius like Kyle Shanahan could have and should have picked up on Smith's body language and said hell with it let's take a chance. Maybe that changes the complexion of the entire game.

The whole idea of " you make your own luck" is fine. I can even respect it. The issue is luck IS a factor and in games of the magnitude that we're talking about it can be the difference between winning and losing.

It's why his points have been so bad over the years. The whole idea that Shanahan can't win the big one would be a lot easier to take as realistic had each game not been a play away from going the other way.

That last SB vs the Chiefs is the perfect example of that.

Dre Greenlaw running onto the field and having his achilles go out - what's the Dr's "make your own luck" version here? Walk don't run onto the field?

Feliciano getting injured - should've been tougher

Muffed punt - Luter should've known the ball was going to graze his leg and McCloud should've just jumped on it...even though he claims he would've done it again regardless of what happened.

Burford doing his own thing and not blocking Chris Jones - Kyle should've ran over to every player and reminded them on that play to not go with their gut.

And yes luck comes into play in regards to loose footballs, literally lucky bounce to your guys vs their guys sometimes. The CMC fumble went right to Karlaftis and people had the audacity to give Kittle a hard time after he did his job and blocked Karlaftis away from the play. That ball isn't fumbled or goes in a different direction and it's a non issue.

Want to talk about luck? 49ers put the ball on the ground 2 times in that game. KC recovered both of them. KC put the ball on the ground 5 times. 49ers recovered 1 of them.

Fumble recovery is not some ancient technique you learn. It's about being in the right place at the right time most of the time.

When you have two teams with talented players and excellent coaching - luck does play a factor in swinging games from one direction to the other. It's why using 1 game from the whole season to make your judgement on a coach is ridiculous. Especially when that one game isn't a total breakdown coaching wise where your team didn't have a prayer from the jump.

I hope things change and turn around for us but losing Bosa is too much, IMO. These injuries are out of control. Hopefully Evans isn't hurt and we can beat Denver but Brock will have to continue balling for us to have a chance against Denver or Seattle.

Overall, injuries have made the 2019-present 49ers one of the largest collection of wasted talent in NFL history. So many HOF, Pro bowl, ALL pro players and not a single Super Bowl victory. We either blew it with injuries or just blew it over all. So depressing. I hope this season turns around and proves me wrong here, I'd love that. It's just depressing to think about. Lol

This isn't bad luck. Kyle needs to gut the entire f**king training staff and not promote from within. Move the practice facility.

Honestly something needs to change. You can only blame football being a physical sport and coincidence so much. It's draining as a fan. You get a glimpse of what your team can be and you just never see it happen. The one year we had pretty good health for the most part it still bit us in the ass in the last game with Dre tearing his achilles running onto the field and not even playing and Feliciano getting hurt leading to Burford's issues.

I love this team but constantly watching the injury list is just so demoralizing.

Will they finally move on from Kyle now? Whatever he's doing for player health is not working. You can have all the greatest players in the world on your roster, if they aren't in the games they do you no good.

Kyle has to go at the end of this season if no Superbowl victory for 49ers.

Yeah this isn't fun anymore. I was trying to be optimistic this season but the injuries are just to much. I'm so tired of dealing with this team and these injuries year after year. God they f**ked up in 19 and 23 this would be much easier to deal with had we won those seasons we were actually healthy.
