Yes how dare we critique a 0-9 head coach.

you guys are taking these wins pretty hard

Not really I haven't said anything negative after the wins. Its defenderdx bumping old posts and inciting. I kinda feel sad for him.

nothing wrong with bringing up old posts when ever since JG started and proved you and the rest of the negative-nancy's wrong. if anything should give you perspective now. I also didn't just do that to call out unjustified posts, but gave props to people who saw ahead and the bigger picture in our worst moments.

News flash. Nobody cares what you think.

news flash. the crow has been served.

Yah real crow at 4-10. Lol the bar is low. Sad

How about 5-10 and carving up the best defense in the league?

Well they WERE the best defense in the league until they played us. Now they're only the SECOND-best defense in the NFL. Yup you're right clearly hasn't proven anything

We can look forward to contract negotiations with Jimmy G and other FA's as well as the draft. I'll brutally and honestly admit looking over HC candidates these past couple years and figuring out how we were going to get out of the laughing stock was kind of fun. But now we have a much better offseason to look forward to .
Kyle, Lynch, Froster and Grapp are gonna save us #questforsix

If this pans out for the long term it's also gonna be great not risking having our offense leave the building for another HC vacancy in the form of a hot OC. That's why my personal preference of a HC-type is the Walsh/Holmgren/Mike Shanahan play caller type. But then again, I have a huge bias towards the offensive side of football.

Great point, this just happened to the Falcons and Redskins. I hope he's up for at least a decade!

Don't understand why y'all can't just admit you were dead wrong and hop on the band wagon. There is nothing wrong with bumping an, "old" post to show that a particular opinion was incorrect. If anything I see it as bullcrap that you expect to throw all these negative "opinions" and expect no one to counter or bring it up when your wrong. Y'all keep saying your opinion and then when others eat up your logic you get all defensive and run to the mods like your being personally attacked.

Edit: I didn't see the actual personal attacks that led from this convo. Still I think when they frustrate other posters it's just their opinion.
When others frustrate them they want action taken by the mods.

6 wins is what I wanted at the beginning of the year so I'm fine with the year. No one for saw trading for Jimmy G midseason. You can argue well the qb would come at some point but I deal with absolutes not Jimmy, KC, top 10 pick it works out anyway. It doesn't. I'm just glad we got our guy now and we can move forward.

Well said.

If people here want to go back and look at my posts and say how wrong I was, I'm all for it. I think it's cool going back and seeing how off or on I was.

More importantly than 5 or 6 wins, is that we found a QB. That's more valuable than any record this season.
I wonder if Kyle will start his own coaching tree Like Walsh or his dad. Thats where the legendary coaches stand out. Coaching coaches.

The crazy thing is, had Kyle Shanahan gone conservative in the Super Bowl and burned clock with a big lead, the Falcons likely win in a route. Brady looks old, and the image of him diving into a faceplant going after his pick 6 defines his Super Bowl.

The Patriots maybe then decide that Brady is mortal, and probably is nearing the end. They then choose to keep Garoppolo to carry on the torch, and trade Brady away.

So in a way, Kyle Shanahan's fateful playcalling strategy possibly ended up netting him his future franchise QB.

You can only have guys from your staff as a head coach in a coaching tree. Not just guys who you were in charge of at some point as an OC.

Yeah, if Brady loses the last Superbowl, Tom's traded, and Jimmy leads New England to 19-0 this season. Brady beating Montana's ring count was the best thing to happen to us. The bad karma we've grieved over passing Tom in the draft has finally mended. Everything is full circle. The solar eclipse decided it.

Agreed. Think of the Falcons right now.

And look at the Seahawks unable to fix their offensive mess.

In general, I think in an ideal scenario the head coach is an offensive guy for the reasons you mention plus relating to a QB.

A great DC like Vic Fangio or Wade Phillips can be brought in in near total isolation and still be highly effective in what they do.

So while I don't have a complete offensive fixation (those Fangio Ds were inspiring), it just seems like the better way of putting a team together.

Harbaugh might have technically been an "O" HC but had all the character of a "D" HC.
