So yeah, I think it's safe to say we can 'ignore' the pre-SB standards because there were no standards. You basically made the Super Bowl with the best regular season record, which if this was the case now I'm sure we'd have like 15-16 SB rings to boot.
Wooden rings/leather helmet era doesn't count.
Also, pre - York ownership era doesn't count for us specifically, lol.
Thems the rules.
The 49ers won most their championships in a league with 28 teams, only two rounds of playoffs, no free agency, no salary cap, and basically made the SB because of best regular season record.
Those don't count either. Only 2017 and later count. Every chamion before then is ancient and dumb.
Thems the rules because I say so.
People can draw the line wherever they arbitrarily choose. I happen to include all NFL seasons. Do you also discount all World Series champions before 1969? How about before 1995?
They all count in my book.
Maybe only champions from 17-game seasons with 14-playoff teams should count.
Chiefs - 2
Rams/Eagles/Seahawks - 1
Everyone else - 0
That's it. Every other prior champion was in ancient days under different rules.
