I recall a time when a coach losing Super Bowls and unable to score against SEA was cause for termination, with extreme prejudice, from many of the pro Shanny folk.
Just sayin.
Except 80-90% of fans (including anti Shanny folk which is quite interesting) vehemently disapproved of the decision to fire Harbaugh. So this is false history rewriting and isn't remotely close to the "gotcha" that you think it is.
Good try though?
Exactly, it was an obvious power struggle between Baalke and Harbaugh, the only person on Baalke's side was Jed
The whole Harbaugh thing really exposes how hypocritical the "fire Kyle!" crowd is.
I distinctly remember multiple users worshipping the Chargers when they beat the Chiefs in December and saying "why did we ever fire Harbaugh?? This organization is a joke!!" and these users are literally the SAME PEOPLE who say we need to fire Kyle.
These people are just trolling at this point. We all know the moment Jed becomes actually dumb and stupid enough to fire Kyle, the "Kyle needs to be fired!" crowd will 180 and say "lol Jed literally fired Kyle for winning too much this organization is a dump lmao" and they'll pretend nobody will notice on top of it.
I noticed this too and I think many in the "fire kyle" crowd are still bitter and hold a grudge against the team since the Harbaugh firing. Jim was their guy and they hate to see Kyle, who is Jed's guy, as the head coach regardless of how successful he is. That's why logic is out the window with these people, I don't think of them as actual fans of the team rather they're fans of their specific idea of what the team should be.
I think Harbaugh has proven that he's a terriffic coach. He's also shown that he wears out his welcome after a few years and moves on. Some fans forget that Baalke was GM of the year in 2011. Lynch won it in 2019. Look at the list and you'll see guys that got fired and some that got hired elsewhere.
People that win these awards are being rewarded for helping to build a winning team. Not because they always have great drafts. It's usually a combination of hitting on a few picks, signing and hitting on a few free agents, staying healthy and having a good coach. When the team doesn't win it's not because the GM suddenly forgot everything he knew.
