Just sayin.

Except 80-90% of fans (including anti Shanny folk which is quite interesting) vehemently disapproved of the decision to fire Harbaugh. So this is false history rewriting and isn't remotely close to the "gotcha" that you think it is.

Good try though?

Exactly, it was an obvious power struggle between Baalke and Harbaugh, the only person on Baalke's side was Jed

The whole Harbaugh thing really exposes how hypocritical the "fire Kyle!" crowd is.

I distinctly remember multiple users worshipping the Chargers when they beat the Chiefs in December and saying "why did we ever fire Harbaugh?? This organization is a joke!!" and these users are literally the SAME PEOPLE who say we need to fire Kyle.

These people are just trolling at this point. We all know the moment Jed becomes actually dumb and stupid enough to fire Kyle, the "Kyle needs to be fired!" crowd will 180 and say "lol Jed literally fired Kyle for winning too much this organization is a dump lmao" and they'll pretend nobody will notice on top of it.

I noticed this too and I think many in the "fire kyle" crowd are still bitter and hold a grudge against the team since the Harbaugh firing. Jim was their guy and they hate to see Kyle, who is Jed's guy, as the head coach regardless of how successful he is. That's why logic is out the window with these people, I don't think of them as actual fans of the team rather they're fans of their specific idea of what the team should be.

I think Harbaugh has proven that he's a terriffic coach. He's also shown that he wears out his welcome after a few years and moves on. Some fans forget that Baalke was GM of the year in 2011. Lynch won it in 2019. Look at the list and you'll see guys that got fired and some that got hired elsewhere.

People that win these awards are being rewarded for helping to build a winning team. Not because they always have great drafts. It's usually a combination of hitting on a few picks, signing and hitting on a few free agents, staying healthy and having a good coach. When the team doesn't win it's not because the GM suddenly forgot everything he knew.

I would never say any players were on Baalke's side, but there were certainly veteran players that were eye-rolling at Harbaugh that last season, which was certainly a different vibe than this year's players re: Shanahan.

It will be interesting to see how Seattle manages continuity offensively. I don't know which situation is less bad…lack of continuity offensively or defensively.

IMO offensive continuity is more important

Defense usually relies on superior athletic talent
Offense usually relies on superior scheme

I can't imagine any team hiring Brian Fleury as a HC anytime soon. I'm surprised they din't interview Nate Scheelhaase from the Rams

Could Kyle and the 49ers blocked the interview? The 49ers were blocked from interviewing a Falcons assistant.

i mean this is happening every year how can Kyle get a good working relationship with his assistants when teams keep hiring them away?

It all starts with MikeShanahan tree then his son Kyle and then McVay. They had a Kyle tree guy last year so they obtained another. The whole league is doing this now it seems no it sucks to see them win before we can win while using some of our own schematics but it is what it is

Except they won because of their defense. They have put together a defense to stop the 'Shanahan', for lack of a better word, offense. The motions and all don't confuse that defense because they have players that are so versatile & just better. It is surprising, though, that is the offense they want. Probably for consistency with Darnold.

They're playing 4D chess now. Hired one of ours as OC. Hired the Ravens DC as their LB coach. They have a salary cap double ours. The rich get richer…
*shrugs* Are we really that concerned? Since Kittle our TE's have hardly done anything noticeable. Maybe a fresh perspective couldn't hurt.

Not concerned or anything, but I don't like it. An interesting move for Seattle, they stay in the Shanahan tree, another guy who knows Darnold, and is very familiar with the rushing attack that Seattle wants to run.
Seattle has been making smart moves for a few years now, I hope this doesn't turn out to be another one.

They have one two major things working against them that is one it's so hard to win back to back SB's and two they are asking Sam Darnold to win back to back SB's. Has anybody in history ever won back to back SB's with a non elite QB?
