He's AWFUL in the draft. Spotty free agency. Horrible extensions of contracts internally. Catastrophic trades. Other than that he's great at player personnel.

So he's an average HC and is bad at drafting, but we have gone to multiple SBs, multiple NFC Championship games. How is that possible?

the original argument was that Kyle was s**t against stout defenses. You brought ip Cleveland. I said the offense didn't win the game. I showed you why they scored in Cleveland, and you bring up Seattle?

So NOW your argument is unless they go 60+ yards downfield it means nothing. How stupid are ya'll trying to be right now?

I used your same idiotic take for the Seattle game…but you know that's different derp

What did the other drives look like? You're so blinded by your love for Shanahan that you can't see his flaws. You're the one who brought up Cleveland as a stout defense that he beat. I told you why that was a bad example. Why is that hard to understand.

smooth brain fans

Why you gotta be interrupting their victory parade? Let them celebrate the 49ers loss they earned it.

In before they ask how many SBs did he win

Literally that's what it is right now. My god people

Trotter has clarified his previous report to say that Lynch will have final say on the 90-man roster, draft and free agency with Shanahan holding control of the 53-man roster.

I'm not a massive fan of lynch and their draft philosophy either.

This isn't accurate. Shanahan demanded Joe Williams. He wanted Dante Pettis. I can go on and on with number of wrs and rbs busts we were drafted because shanahan was enamored with them. And who had final say on lance?

lynch needs to go. Shanahan should not have any say on draft picks. Let gms be gms. Kyle should just coach.

He's earned it.

He deserves it.

Hell, we deserve it.

Buddy, just because he wanted a RB on day 3 of the draft doesn't mean he has complete control of everything. That is the structure of the FO to HC. He also allows his coaching staff to have a lot of say in the draft process. Lynch can either listen to them and work together or pick who he wants and deal with the staff after. It was reported that Wilks loved Brown, he ended up being the pick. Our ST HC had a hardon for Moody.

All good teams work together to build a roster. Pretending it's just the GM and the HC/Staff have no say is simply not true. I would want my OL coach to have some say on who we draft at OL. I would want my offensive minded HC to have some say in the offense. I would want my DC to have some say on the defensive players etc etc.

Sounds like Kyle wanted Jones and agreed with Lynch and Peters that the upside of Lance was what this franchise needed. Clearly didn't work out in part because of injuries, lack of reps and Brock becoming the dude.

Pretending GMs and coaches don't work together to draft players is not real life,

The blame for drafting gets spread very wide. People can't seem to decide whether to blame Shanahan, Lynch, the coaches the owner or the scouts. So here they just blame everyone. The usual moaning only covers the first round or so, though, and ignores how other teams perform comparatively. Our performance in the draft all-in-all is pretty good. Likewise FA. As far as I know he doesn't get involved in the contracts (Marathe) but I see that is all down to him for these people. The injuries bit deep, and we had to send out most of our depth, and well as pick up guys off the streets. Linebackers, for instance. And they performed brilliantly. I presume this comes under spotty free agency. I can't be bothered to list the guys who came in and performed for us when they were needed. Supporters will know who I mean.

Lynch and Kyle are both bad. You can mask it all you want with the magic dust of shifts and motions. But where it really counts in the draft, free agency, internal extension contracts, trades they are HORRIFIC. Just don't believe you can win a Super Bowl with player personnel decisions that are this bad. You have to do better on the roster and they are not it.
