WEH WEH WEH wait... Please AVOID using the word GREAT on Shanahan... it's bad enough that he was labeled THE BEST YOUNG MIND IN FOOTBALL at one time, please, let him earn the word GREAT...

He's barely above average winning percentage wise..

Kyle botched it big time.

I see we can't even enjoy a blowout win.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing.

Not when it's the obvious choice

But it wasn't. There were questions about Brady's age and how much he had left in the tank rather you want to admit that or not.

again... at the very worst, he'd be better than any of our backs up then..

Who are we comparing him to ? This isn't should we sign Brady or stick with Aaron Rodgers…. This was should we sign an aging Brady, or stick with Jimmy freaking Garoppolo. The answer is obvious, you don't need hindsight to figure it out.

AGREE...

... and that's why my point is very legit... Kyle did not want anything to do with a HOF QB that can get him the SB ring.. he rather have an excuse (Grappy) or reason for not winning the big one.. in short, he would love to win the SB, but he wants all the credit when he wins..

Do you really think Brady would have come here to be the backup?

You give him too much credit. I don't think Kyle has a clue when it comes to QB talent evaluation. He said it himself. The "genius" head coach asked a panel of 49ers personnel on whether they thought Brady would be a better choice over Jimmy or not. Then he decided to trade 3 years worth of picks for Trey Lance because he didn't have any conviction on Mac Jones. He practically stumbled on Brock Purdy who's only starting because Kyle's first two choices injured out.

I don't think it has anything to do with what other quarterback bring to the table. Kyle Shanahan is just a play caller, and a good one at that. But I don't think he could pick out a good QB from a lineup unless someone pointed him in the right direction.
I hope he allows Purdy to do a lot more audibling at the line. I think that can really make our offense more dynamic. I think Purdy is smart enough to handle that task. Loved seeing him audible for that Kittle TD.

And people can say "Brady was 42 and declining". Despite clearly still producing with a crap roster. I don't care if Brady was 45 at the time. You don't choose Jimmy Glass over Tom Brady. Never. That's an easy decision.

Can someone honestly say the 49ers lose to the Rams in 2021 and Chiefs in 2023 with Brady? Absolutely not.

And Jimmy G just took us to the Super Bowl. But yeah critiquing after knowing how history unfolds shows real high IQ

He didn't "take" anyone to the SB. He threw like 8 passes in the NFC title game. Kyle was petrified to have him run a two minute drill to end the first half.

Should he have been asked to throw more given that Mostert ran for 220 yards in that game and as a team we put up 285 yards on the ground ? Was it not smart football to just keep running it down their throats considering they couldn't stop the run?

Did Kyle do that with half a quarter left in the 4th up by 10 ?

Different games against different teams. 49ers were not having the same level of success running the ball, especially in the second half VS KC that they did in the GB game.

You also are being somewhat disingenuous about the 10 point lead.

The moment we went up by 10, KC came back moving the ball with success until Moore got a pick at our 13. We started our next drive with two positive plays and moved the chains... then a 1 yard run by RM, an incompletion by JG and a penalty on Staley had us in a 3rd and 14 situation which wasn't converted. We punt and they marched down the field to make it a 3 point game and that's the series with the infamous 44 yard pass to Tyreek where the refs wore blinders and didn't call the obvious hold on Bosa.

All that said, we won again yesterday and you're still running around acting salty as s**t just like everytime we win.
