Surely it nothing to do with the HC not understanding the OT rules.

This argument has been beaten to death, but let's just assume you are correct and move past it.

You don't go to overtime without two turnovers and plenty of missed opportunities on offense. It's not Kyle's fault CMC fumbled away a scoring opportunity, and it's not his fault we had a freak turnover on a punt return that resulted in the Chiefs only TD.

Everyone had a role in the loss, most especially the people playing the game. Even kicking the ball off in OT, you'll more than likely need to stop a TD and score one… and we could do neither.

The biggest argument is "the Chiefs faced a 4th and 1 on their drive. If it wasn't a must-score drive, maybe they punt there" but still we don't know if they even end up with a 4th and 1 if they go first. The biggest REAL argument IMO is "maybe the drive(s) go completely differently."
Not gonna get into discussions we had for months after the SB season.

One thing I'll bring up for the people so eager to get rid of Kyle and John while propping up KC and Philly…go look at how many of our former players both of those teams have added in FA.

You have KC who arguably have the best coaching staff in the NFL now and Eagles who have arguably the best GM in the game right now and they keep poaching our players.

Whatever the flaws of Kyle and John they have shown the ability to bring in good talent and develop them well more often than not.

Considering what's happening right now getting rid of these guys is not the smart thing to do.

Not only has it been beaten to death it's been proven outright wrong.

I was trying to get the guy to realize we played 4 quarters of football before OT.

Ben Johnson addressing his oline first year in. Lets see how he does in full control compared to Kyle.

Also it at least took kyle a few years to age like 50 years...

Kyle changed out the whole OL after getting here. Just cuz he didn't make it in such a splashy way as Johnson doesn't change that he ignored it completely.

We brought in Garry Gilliam to be the swing OT, Brandon Fusco who started at RG and traded for Laken Tomlinson who started at LG in year 1 under Kyle.
Year 2 we drafted McGlinchey with a top 10 pick. Signed Weston Richburg to be the starting Center. Traded for Shon Coleman.

He definitely put emphasis on building the OL. It's just cuz for the most part the moves haven't been sexy and some haven't worked out due to injuries.

I was thinking Zach Wilson as QB2 but not surprised about Mac Jones. He was quarterbacking pretty good in Jacksonvilled after Lawrence got hurt. No issue with the Jones signing.

Anyway, the point is that I don't think we'll ever see a top notch QB in the K. Shanahan era because of two points, there could be other points too, he must really believe in his ability and his system to produce with a certain guy AND he will never cede control to a truly talented guy. Can't argue that he does win when he has a guy that can manage his system though. However it's about being a champion and just a winner.

Aaron Rodgers expected to take over Kyle Shanahan as 49ers HC role, turns down Steelers and Giants

While Kyle Shanahan is safe for the 2025 NFL season, there is a real chance that his future in 2026 is not," Marissa Myers noted. "With that in mind, it presents the perfect opportunity for Rodgers to take the next step in his career, and enter the realm of coaching." (via: Sporting News)

Greenlaw is a concern. The rest is melodramatic nonsense for the most part from the usual people.

This is pretty much it.

We have so many people who want bash the players for their performance and talk about Shanahan not adapting.

Guess what these moves are doing? They're forcing him to adapt and they're stripping off players who under performed.

Greenlaw is the only stud in the group who we didn't really have a great fallback plan on.

I will say the Collins release surprised me but I think that and the Floyd cut shows the team is looking to bring in guys who can stop the run, which may not be a bad idea given the top competition in the NFC runs the hell out of the ball.

I don't like that we're putting so much into the draft BUT given our needs this is the draft to do that with I guess. Just have to nail the picks!

Personally I felt that the team despite the injuries got a little complacent. It felt like they expected to coast into the playoffs last year and then get their reinforcements from Dre and CMC and make a run...then it never happened and we got more injuries on top of it. Getting hungry players in here is not a bad thing.
I think a lot of the team figured the playoffs were a birthright and they could turn it on when it was time. After every loss it was, "we have the right guys." But week after week, they couldn't pull it off.

I love that we are putting so much into the draft. The team is forcing themselves to hit. They have to come away with a DE, NT, 3T, LB, deep safety, guard, and center. And because there is so much Dline talent it's entirely possible.

Was she paid to write that? Like seriously. Can you write things like that and be paid to do it?
Some dumb team would have traded multiple first and second round picks for him this year. Next year he will get fired and we will get nothing for him
