Not gonna happen. This is in essence the conundrum that is Kyle Shanahan. He chooses to have his hands in all those jars, and when he doesn't get what he wants he balks. Now that Jed is pulled the reigns from him, I expect Kyle will slowly start to drift away from the team. Remember this is a guy that made a 30 page PowerPoint presentation for Cleveland just to get out of his contract.

I can see that in your wildest fantasies, Jed and Kyle now hate each other, but why is Kyle still here if he's so disillusioned?
and why does Jed still pay him 14 million per season to coach?

Because he likes him. He's coach's buddy. It's why Jed will never be like his uncle. The Yorks don't have loyalty to the team. They have loyalty to money. As long as tickets sell, seats are filled, merchandise is a flow, they won't make changes. When the fans turn on Kyle, you bet Jed will change his tune toward his butt buddy. I'm thinking T minus 12 months before this happens.

If you turn out to be correct, I'll make a t-shirt that says, "Dr Ell was right."

This is pretty much it.

We have so many people who want bash the players for their performance and talk about Shanahan not adapting.

Guess what these moves are doing? They're forcing him to adapt and they're stripping off players who under performed.

Greenlaw is the only stud in the group who we didn't really have a great fallback plan on.

I will say the Collins release surprised me but I think that and the Floyd cut shows the team is looking to bring in guys who can stop the run, which may not be a bad idea given the top competition in the NFC runs the hell out of the ball.

I don't like that we're putting so much into the draft BUT given our needs this is the draft to do that with I guess. Just have to nail the picks!

Personally I felt that the team despite the injuries got a little complacent. It felt like they expected to coast into the playoffs last year and then get their reinforcements from Dre and CMC and make a run...then it never happened and we got more injuries on top of it. Getting hungry players in here is not a bad thing.

you finally AGREE with me.. even used my HUNGRY players ei.. we good brah... we good !!
I said this a little while back, but now with Juice's release and trading Deebo I feel like Shanny is truly transitioning to truly running the offense through the QB. Obviously the plan still includes a healthy CMC, Williams, Jennings and Kittle still being leaders (and Kittle better be the #1 option in the pass game a lot more in 2025), but bringing in a TE to play the tweener role Juice played seems to be Kyle moving past the FB position in general, even if it's been a hybrid role for years anyway.

Ideally Brock is given a little more flexibility with true audibles in certain situations where the built in answer in the offense is also anticipated by better defenses. Do that, upgrade the OL talent in the draft, and get better redzone situational plays executed and you may have a much, much better offense than we saw last year even with some of the vet departures.

Eh eventually he will be right. Some famous coach once said no matter what happens you either get fired or mutually separated at one point as HC. If Ell says every year he will be fired or Jed will start to turn on him, he will eventually be right.

I was kinda on the fence about Shanny but now with what's going on with the York's saving money, I'm so glad we have Shanny and Salah. If anyone can rise from the ashes (God Smack), it's those two. They have done it before.

Let's see what happens now. If we can draft well it will at least be interesting for the future.
Meh, not confident atm that Shanny wins one with the Niners, ship may have sailed already. We will see.

What sucks is, you just know the moment he leaves he'll go and win one with another team, boom

Why couldn't we just beat the damn Chiefs one of the two times we had a wide open shot to do so?

It's crazy. If Dre doesn't get hurt, we blow out the chiefs, vibes are good last season, Dre is still here, all is right in the world lol

I don't normally wear a tin foil hat...but with the NFL and the 49ers I do it often.

I 100% believe for whatever reason(maybe us kicking ass in the 80s/90s) that Roger and the NFL are looking for opportunities to stick it to us.

Call it excuses, call it whatever you want but we were absolutely cut off at the knees going into that 2019 SB where they decided before the game even started that they weren't going to call any offensive holding on the Chiefs. You have a high powered passing offense going up against a great pass rush team...and you allow the other team to hold without consequences. We definitely still had our chances to win that game too but they took away our biggest advantage in that game.

Last SB was simply an all around F up by us. We had that game in so many ways.

What people have to hope for us this reset/rebuild whatever you want to call it forces Kyle to adjust his thought process. Put more emphasis into the OL, give Brock more control at the line so in key moments he can go with what he believes in vs relying on the Center and need Kyle to go away from playing up to the defensive looks in key moments of the game - sometimes even if they give you the passing heavy look, you still gotta run at them.
Last SB was so depressing. We you sit and analyze the fact that your favorite team didn't understand the overtime rules. That the other team's coach not only knew the rules but practiced the s**t the day before. We lost that SB's b/c Andy Reid is a better and more prepared HC. 2019 is more on the players to me. They were on the sidelines celebrating like the game was over in the 3rd quarter. So many missed passes from Jimmy. Chris Jones dogging our o line. Fred taking some of the worst run angles of all time. The big 4th down completion where Moseley didn't cover Hill. Just a total choke job from our entire roster.

Rest assured we mainly lost because of the players in the last Super Bowl as well.

Surely it nothing to do with the HC not understanding the OT rules.
