49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Dude taking the ball in OT was the right call, and it's not really debatable! The defense was f'ing cooked! That wouldn't have been as much of an issue had Greenlaw not gone down and had we fired Wilks mid season.

Now not firing Wilks mid season? That's on Kyle, but I understand why they didn't do it.

RIvera is my pick. Worked under Jim Johnson, alongside Spagnuolo, wealth of experience as a DC and HC, prefers to run a zone heavy 4-3 scheme.

I feel like Rivera is going to be similar to Wilks. Not the biggest fan of that.

Chris Hewitt and Brendan Daly are two that I would love as DCs for the 49ers.

So Kyle is responsible for CMC fumbling?

no but it's definitely Kyle's fault that our $100 million dline couldn't get any pressure all year

Thank goodness. There's literally no reason why this defensive line wasn't averaging 3-4 sacks a game

All we need is Sam Darnold to sign elsewhere and he will be inconsolable.
Great news. BB to the rescue?

Wilks was the Dollar General version of Rivera. If they want to maintain a similar system but be less vanilla when it comes to the DL, Rivera would be a solid pick.
Kyles gonna name himself DC.

Mid-season has far more restricted options on who takes over.

NGL, that would be incredible just to see it play out for a HC to call both offense and defense. It would be like seeing a guy play WR and CB for 70 plays in a game.

Obviously insane, but entertaining.

In his prime days, sure. But now? I have reservations.
a championship caliber team needs a championship caliber defensive coordinator. And no BB is not coaching as anything under a HC.

Too bad Todd Bowles isn't available.
Good. I was getting TIRED of his leaky defense getting bailed out by the offense. No excuses to play that poorly when you have this much talent on the defensive side

So you rather have the 3 points in the first half and still half them score14 in the last few minutes of the game. Im sorry would rather for the defense to give up scores in the first half and clamp down in the second. 1st half doesn't win the game ( we seen that in the nfc championship. His late game defense sucks!
