He won't get it because he's expected to do great things. Demeco should actually win it in Houston, but I wouldn't be surprised if Campbell got it for finally making Detroit relevant.
Just my take on it, but if Demeco gets it, it'd be like Kyle getting coach of the year in my eyes. He's the guy that spotted Demeco and made him DC and Demeco is one hell of a coach in my opinion.

Dude is flip-flopping right now
he clearly picked the eagles and talked rash about the Niners
Read it. Its nothing but a backhanded compliment.
Agree. Mr. Cone is a cone-head.

If you've ever thought, even for a moment, that you could play in the @NFL, or ever wondered just how hard it is, not physically, but mentally, watch this.

Very nice breakdown. All this presnap motion really screws with pattern match principles. If an offense isn't utilizing presnap motion to get defenses confused, then it is an archaic offense.

People always talk about Kyle's genius when it comes to play design and play calling, but IMO, his greatest strength is his ability to decipher your defensive rules and force you to break them.

Yep, it's really just the surprise good team award as it almost always goes to the coach whose team outperformed expectations. Kyle's only chance of winning it was likely in 2019, but John Harbaugh won it instead.

The shift/motion screws with your accounting ability on defense in 2 ways: it can change gap assignments, and the receiver count on each side of the ball (which several types of zones coverages are based on), and also gives a zone/man tell presnap for the qb... the defense needs to have this sorted out quickly or an offensive player is unaccounted for which creates opportunities.
I just feel sorry for Fred warner practicing against Kyle's offense in practice. Having to do all those accounting and math problems inside a football helmet and pads.

Demeco Ryans was fantastic. I think it was his first year, when we were super thin at CB and had to get guys off the street?
We struggled in the first half of the year because teams would just throw it up and get DPI.
But Demeco reined in that secondary. He figured out how to mix up his coverages. Just so good at disguising things, mixing things up. I think the Packers playoff game (when we had a blocked punt TD) was the ultimate example of how good he is as a defensive playcaller. He absolutely befuddled Aaron Rodgers in that game.
I really miss having him as our defensive coordinator, but glad to see he's having huge success. Wilks had big shoes to fill when he came (and after some bumps in the first half of the season, feels like he's figured out his personnel).

He's got a quarterback and RB tandem that allow him to open up the entire playbook, even tinker around with a bunch of stuff just for the heck of it. I'm sure he's having a blast right now.
