Offsides and false starts are decided by the refs as well.
The underlying point though is that those types of penalties, like 12 men in the huddle etc., are far less subjective than say, an OPI call on TT.
Whether they fall on coaching though is another subject to be debated. I think there is a fair argument one could make that the PI calls on RR are as much on Saleh as they are on RR.
Fair point. I am not debating the subjectivity of NFL officials.
Normally, I am the type to blame the person on the field for on the field issues, not their coach on the sideline or in the booth. With RR though, because of the way Saleh has him playing, one can make a fairly strong argument that the PI calls RR gets hit with are not solely RR's fault.
There are certain penalties that can be put on the coach, which I think is what you were implying. DoG penalties under JH etc. In KS's case, the penalties thus far are more on the players than the coach, imo.

This must be why you accused me of fabricating the fact that the 49ers led the league in penalties. I was talking about penalties that were called by the officials and those are simply opinions.

I responded to a comment in which someone mentioned the 49ers "39 penalties", all I said waas "The most in the NFL" and you said it was a fabrication which was "typical WooLick". I posted a link to backup my statement and you disappeared.

do we really need to revisit the perception of Goff prior to McVays arrival.... this narrative of the Rams being this sleeping juggernaut is so overblown.... the 49ers missed on McVay, and now they have to deal with a steep KS learning curve.

If I remember correctly, or I could be wrong all together, but I don't think McVay even wanted the niners job. So its possible we didn't miss on anything.

There's way more to penalites than coaching. Just look at belichick. 2013 they only had 69 penalites which was second fewest in the league. The very next year they have 120 penalites which was like 5 or 6 most. Did he forget how to coach in that year? That's a hard sell considering they won the super bowl the ye with 120 penalites.
Nobody's saying peanalties are desirable they just aren't solely on the HC.
We've also been a team out of rhythm. Teams that are in rhythm tend to mess up at the same time or all execute at the same time. For us, it's like we've had so many plays that are just one guy away from changing the game. We can't get that momentum and keep it sustained long enough. We'll do well, the someone holds, or PI, or whiffs a block or drops a pass or misses an open receiver or trips going through the hole or attacks the wrong gap or gives up contain....

A week ago today, the 49ers led the league with 39 penalties. Today the 49ers lead the NFL with 49 penalties after the 10 penalties in the game yesterday. Seeing as the 49ers led the league in penalties going into the games yesterday, it appears you are making things up.

I'm sure Kyle is as frustrated as us fans when we commit some of these stupid penalties.

This all sounds like the definition of a young team getting schemes installed. It takes time and looks like s**t while it's being installed but that's football.

I'd always just assumed that this sort of stuff was just common knowledge accepted by everyone that's watched football for more than like 2 years....I guess I was wrong.

would be false hope. like when we won our last 2 openers in '15 and '16
