The offense wasn't that great last season either. It was just that Deebo was playing out of his mind that made it look better than it was. When you have an average QB you get an average offense. It's just the way it is.

Pretty much.

I am giving my opinion. I felt outnumbered in the JH camp. Ppl were wanting him out. I may be wrong I didn't actually take time to count the posts on way or the other.

JH wasn't the problem. Baalke was. I think Tomsula and Kelly proved that....and just to stir the pot..they should have Kept Alex like JH wanted.

I would be curious to see a poll on this:

People who wanted Harbaugh out vs people who wants Shanahan out.

I'm willing to bet a large majority of people who wanted to KEEP Harbaugh want Shanahan OUT (this is me).

And people who wanted Harbaugh OUT want to KEEP Shanahan.

I could be way off base. But I have a feeling there's a correlation there.

Those of us who like to win liked Harbaugh. Those who don't like Shanahan.
Nope. I was in favor of Harbaugh over Baalke. I am also in favor of keeping Shanahan.

Theory busted.

He took more shots then. The guy from the Saints game is in a different stratosphere from the guy now.

Why is the Saints game referenced so much and not the first cards game ? There is really nothing that great from the saints game.

The run game was working, almost to the tune of 7 yards per carry

Down by two scores he heaved a bad ball downfield that shouldve been picked off and hung for eternity, to Sanders. That throw is never a great throw in anyone's book

Sanders jet sweep pass option to mostert, a play that kyle revisited vs the rams in last game of regular season last season
The option out on 4th down to kittle, after missing him badly on third down, that Kittle made a signature play and willed to a FG ?

The first AZ game in 2019 at least had some genuinely great Jimmy throws and the run game didn't work.

The media was saying Harbaugh was out before his last season even started. There were a bunch of injuries that season too. We had Marcus Martin and Jonathan Martin both starting on the O line.

Harbaugh still never had a losing season. I don't want Kyle fired yet, but Harbaugh was probably better at being a HC than Kyle is even though Kyle has a better offense.

Yup. This is all Kyle's fault.

Yes Jimmy missed some plays. But some of those plays weren't the first read, the oline basically collapsed on the 2nd to last one. He did complete the one to deebo albeit it was a s**tt throw.

But why are we expecting Jimmy to be mahommes in his first game back after off season surgery without reps or timing down? If we all think Jimmy sucks, why isn't shanny calling plays that work to his strength? This is on shanny 100% he's the coach. He calls the plays for the particular personnel.

And speaking of Shanahan. He's best when he had a rb by committee approach. It worked in our superbowl year, it worked in Atlanta. Why the f**k Is mason getting 1 rush?

The run game was successful at times during the game but we only ran the ball 19 times. That was because we were 1 of 10 on 3rd down. The Denver defense was cheating hard on the shorter routes. Jimmy has been pressured on just 29.1% of his drop backs. Not great but not terrible either. The fact is, if Jimmy just took what the defense was giving him, the game wouldn't have been close.

So why stop running? And why run so much with Deebo who was the least successful runner statistically. This ISNT an anomoly. Same in Chicago. Same vs Seattle. Teams are no longer fooled by the Deebo-won't-be-as-effective-as-a-RB gimmick. Yes, it is Kyles fault. His QB. His RBs. His game plan. He's both the OC and the game caller AND the HC. He has final say on this uber talented 53. Don't like Jimmy, find someone else as a BU who's better. All-pro WR, perennial pro-bowl TE and FB that can toe tap a catch on the sideline. Stop trying to convince everyone the only offense available is Jimmy in the shotgun with the RB in PP where he needs to throw 7-9 yeards to Deebo or behind Aiyuk. Kyle knows what Jimmy's limits are so don't ask dude to throw 29 times against a good defense and only give the talented Mason who was the reason you CUT a 3rd round pick ONE carry for 7 yards. I'm not saying we should fire Kyle but damn the excuses must END. It's year 6.

Why didn't we run it more? Because we were 1/10 on 3rd down. The more 3rd downs you convert the more carries you can give to the RB's. I do agree that the Deebo RB experiment has run its course though.

We didn't convert on 3rd because we didn't run enough and asked Jimmy to throw too much.

Wilson was over 5ypc
Mason had 1 carry for 7 yards

Between those two they had 20 carries. 4.6ypc for all runners.

Actually, Wilson averaged 6.3 ypc. But if you take away that one 37 yard run, he averaged 3.5 ypc. Are you seriously suggesting we run it on 3rd and 4+ just to keep the ball out of Jimmy's hands? People are acting like Jimmy threw the ball 40+ times in the game. Also, questioning Kyle on his run/pass split is just crazy. Shanny wants to run the ball more than any other head coach in the league. I can promise you that.

No. I am not saying that at all and you're setting up a false choice. Are you seriously suggesting this is the best this offense can do as designed with a limited Jimmy as we've seen in what 4 straight seasons? Jimmy threw the ball 29 times. What I'm questioning is why only give a back you chose over a 3rd round pick only 1 carry for 7 yards? He's been in that RB room for 3 weeks now. I think it's absolute insanity to not hold the game planner, OC, play caller and HC responsible for only scoring 10 points against a team that struggled to sustain any offense against this defense. Should we also blame Jimmy for McG timely penalties that almost always seems to either set up disaster, kill a drive or lead to the other team's score? Yes, let's talk about the whole team because it's not just Jimmy missing open WRs. Let's look at johnnydel's tape where most of the miscues in Chicago were about not just OL but WRs missing blocks. I'm sure you'll find some of that this week. I'm saying Shanny needs to stop pushing the Deebo-is-my-savior and ask other runners to contribute beyond Wilson, ask other WRs (like Gray) to contribute. Why draft these guys if you're never going to use them? Is McCloud only a returner? We certainly didn't get that impression in camp. Where are those plays? And please miss me with the "because we lost Trey, the whole offense is gone." There's too much talent on this team for excuses. Too much. It's time to hold coach accountable until his squad gets its s**t together. In year 6.
if jimmy actually thrown better and hit the open guys, this past game is a blowout

when you get the offense going with some passes, it opens up everything

Who kept Jimmy on this team? Who insisted that we not trade or cut Jimmy? What am I missing?
if thats all you got, then your just throwing a fit

if the fans have their way, then we will get an inferior HC... which fans will throw another fit and blame someone else.. when it's really the fan that doesn't know who to blame from the beginning.

Who? You tell me.
He seems really upset with the media and fan criticism lately. He's struggling lately. The confidence is shaken. He has more outbursts it seems. He's short with the media on some things. The pressure is mounting.

If you think by firing Baalke and keeping Harbaugh much changes in 2015 you were in for a rude awakening. At best that's a 6-10 season.

Harbaugh would've stuck with Kap. He also would've hired a loser like Mike Lombardi as his GM. The same guy who would've cast Alex Smith aside for Brian Hoyer in 2011.

I wanna see Harbaugh come back and see how Mooch 2.0 works elsewhere. But no one wants to give him full control.
