Now that was leverage. I'm assuming you probably thought that since you don't pay attention to what's being said about Cousins.

Still think we hit a home run with the Shanahan hire

Lol same here, we knew this year would be rough

I feel the same way, I'm still stoked we got Shanahan. I just didn't feel too excited about Robert Saleh. Give Shanahan a better QB and DC and I will guarantee you better results and I bet he would too.

Who do you want as DC? I was hoping for Wade Phillips but he chose LA (let's be real, we went after him. Everybody did. He just chose LA).

I wanted Wade Phillips or Gus Bradley. I've always said, in order for Shanahan to be successful early he needed to get a veteran DC.

LA must be a great city

When Saleh gets an edge rusher, a DB and Foster back, he will look better lol

Yea, I know. I'm not singling you out. Lots of people here talk about Cousins like there is a chance of him coming here. It's hard to believe that a playoff contender is going to let a franchise QB leave in his prime and franchise QBs do not leave playoff contenders to come to Cleveland West.

So why hasn't Washington signed him yet? And tell me what the chances are Washington tags him again next off season and what will their salary cap look after they tag him?

Find the answers to my questions and you'll see the chances are better than you believe!!

Agreed. You can see what he's trying to do, he just can't rely on his players yet. First year in Atlanta was rough too.

There is definitely a "chance" he comes here. We have this thing called money. And a coach that fought for him back when he first came into this league.

A "good chance?" I have no clue. A "lock?" Certainly not.

What are you talking about, I can get to the Super Bowl in Madden my first year using Shanahan. Why should real life be different!!!

how is he better than Chip? Was Chip's roster better? Is the time of possession better? Is our defense better rested?

Are we getting fewer penalties? Are we wasting fewer timeouts?

I guess you weren't paying attention to the atlanta falcons the past couple years.

where is chip right now?
This thread is a perfect example of why I find it harder and harder to come to 49ers forums. Bunch of whiny, self-depreciating, babies. Grow the f**k up and behave like men, not millennial insta gratification teenagers, s**t! Shanahan will be fine, our team is already better than last year and it's eaaarrly. A completely new offense, a completely new defense and a complete roster overhaul is what we're working with. Chill the f**k out. Shanahan is obviously better than what we've had the last several years and if you can't see it then I'm sorry you're blind. Imo it's obvious and I am excited.

Right now, Shanahan's offense is doing much better than Adam Gase' is, and that's with Cutler. This time last year the 49ers O was ranked dead last, this year as of right now they are ranked 22. By week 5 last season, the 49ers were already blown out by the Panthers, Seahawks and Cardinals. 49ers last season lost by a total of 57 point by week 5, This season by week 5 they only lost by a total of 31. It's a moral victory for the season, yes, but no one can't say this team isn't improved.

Yea, we do have money. Other teams do too. The Redskins have money. It'll be cheaper for them to sign him to a long term deal compared to what they're paying him now. Don't believe what you read in the media. The conflict between Cousins and the front office is just extended negotiation. They'll magically work it out and get a deal done. Franchise QBs do not leave playoff contenders in their prime.
