This is why C and G are so crucial to Kyle's offense esp. now that we have a FQB.
While Jimmy GQ made the most of all these QB pressures, it started f**king with his mechanics. Give this man a clean pocket and his mechanics and accuracy are flawless and he'll find the receiver no matter who that receiver is.
Otherwise, he's throwing off his back foot, taking hits, forced to throw from 20 different angles, etc.
He's still a young QB and the last thing you want is him developing no trust in his pocket and learning bad habits. Those are hard to undue.
My list of top needs go like this given you can't fill all your needs in one off season:
C - this absolutely is priority #1 both in the draft and in FA. Kilgore = depth and push-starter only. You do everything to protect your FQB and he'll make all your skill positions better.
G - this C-rule applies here too. Tomlinson/Fusco. = depth and push-starters only. This will be a priority in the draft and FA.
CB - this is a priority because outside of Witherspoon and Williams, we have nobody. This will be a priority in the draft and FA.
OT - here you go scheme fit, brains and development hoping a rookie can grow into a starting role but for now, be the #2 swing T. We will need to sign another Gary Gilliam in FA again.
ER - unless Chubb falls to us or we move up to get him, there is no 3-down LEO and FA is slim pickings. Therefore, look to round 3+ for a 3rd down edge rusher to rotate with Marsh and Dumervil. Saleh will go his usual "big personnel" on 1st and 2nd downs and we'll hover around 30-35 for team sacks but still be an effective mid-level defense.
ILB - for now, Saleh will lean on Harold, Foster and M.Smith with depth in Coyle, Lee and Nzeocha and a raw rookie with upside and great speed.
ZWR - there are some big-bodied developmental ZWR's in this draft who can play an immediate RZ role and potentially grow into more.
