Traditionally the Z is the number 1 WR, but Kyle did an outstanding job of moving Julio around to all the spots (Z,X, zebra/E/Eagle). I guess that's the ultimate goal to find a true number 1 that can play them all.
As far as our personnel, I think Torrey is primarily an X. His speed is his main asset and that's needed to function as the split end. Again, a Julio can do it all much like Jerry could so you could put him anywhere. I just don't see Torrey as a Flanker.
Kerley is a slot/E/eagle/zebra and should be resigned and if we find a true flanker or 1 could be deadly.
Using espn's article about Kyle's favorite plays, it featured 11 pass plays. Here were the primary or in some cases secondary receivers based strictly on position:
1) Z
2) Z/Zebra
3) Y/Zebra
4) HB
5) Z
6) Z
7) HB/X
8) X/HB
9) Z
10) Zebra
11) Y
Again....Zebra is a slot WR in 11 or 01 personnel situations. Y is the online TE.
My man...thanks for reminding me. Had to update back to the WCO again.
I have ShanaLynch going hard after Kenny Britt and drafting Mike Williams and have him learn all 3 WR positions slowly and resigning Kerley for the slot too. Torrey at the X has potential.
