So how many of our new free agents are getting cut?

Man, we just pulled in 26+ UDFA's and tryouts and June 1st cuts still upcoming, so it's hard to project at this moment. I could certainly give it a go later when I get more time...pick the 53.
One thing I love about this new regime, is that there is doubt about their desire to add system-fit players. Every one of the free agents added and now, via the draft, and once you know the WCO and the 4-3_under defense, fit well as new bricks on this team:

Solomon Thomas - This dude is going to be a monster at LDE and even more so, inside where he's an incredible pass rusher.
Reuben Foster - Talk about an ideal WILL in this defense. "Extreme physicality." Seek-and-destroy.
Ahkello Witherspoon - Another 6'3" outside CB to pair with 6'3" Rashard Robinson who together, allow Ward to move back to his more natural FS role.
C.J. Beathard - John Lynch stated that they had intel that the 3rd and 4th round was where many teams targeted Beathard so they secured him at the end of the 3rd. Pro-style QB who fits the offense well already and now has time to develop within Kyle's WCO.
Joe Williams - Beaming with electric talent. Many already see him as being used like Tevin Coleman in this offense.
George Kittle - Another OW who can play multiple positions and line up everywhere.
Trent Taylor - Tremendous slot ability that eats up a Seahawks defense who also adds as a returner.
D.J. Jones - NT/1T who can rotate in with Mitchell and grow and develop even more. Really nice upside too.
Pita Taumoepenu - You can't run a 4-3_under without situational edge rushers. He'll play the role of Frank Clark for us and rush from the SAM and Elephant in nickel and dime sets.
Adrian Colbert - A FS with great speed and can add on ST coverage units.

Now, obviously, we didn't add our FQB, didn't get a premier ER and didn't add a true ZWR. But we're certainly stronger down the middle of the field and on the edges. And we certainly added system-fit players who will have a chance to master their positions and roles within our two systems. We added key role players and starters (and starters include key role players, nickel and dime players, special teamers, etc.). Every one of these players, save for Colbert, have an opportunity to become a starter or starter-like player.

On top of that, we added high draft capital for next year...in hopes of securing a position to take a FQB, ER & ZWR. Kuddos the the FO!

4 for 4 now.

I didn't realize we met with Beathard! That's amazing NC. 4 for 4? Lol. Way to point this out at the beginning.

So, lets see who me might be looking at for later picks:

70 Julie'n Davenport OT
93 Chad Hansen WR
99 Nico Siragusa G
110 David Sharpe OT
118 Elijah Lee LB
123 George Kittle TE
135 Joshua Dobbs QB
142 Jerod Evans QB
157 Jordan Leggett TE
165 Jessamen Dunker G
180 Keion Adams Edge
184 Johnathan Calvin Edge
185 Corey Levin G
187 Michael Roberts TE
202 Artavis Scott WR
225 Aaron Jones RB

I'm convinced we're drafting a guard. Would also love to see one of those edges. TE also seems very likely. And of course, don't we kinda have to draft a late round rb?

So if my calculations are correct, this is who we met/connected with:

DE Solomon Thomas - Yes
WILL Reuben Foster - Yes
CB Ahkello Witherspoon - Yes
QB C.J. Beathard - Yes
RB Joe Williams - Yes (Bobby Turner); unknown to us prior to the draft
TE George Kittle - Yes
YWR Trent Taylor - No (film)
NT D.J. Jones - No (film)
ER Pita Taumoepenu - Yes; unknown to us prior to the draft
FS Adrian Colbert - No (film)
If those 20 reported UDFA signings happen, we need to cut/trade 14 players from the current roster.

This is what I have, please correct me if I'm wrong on certain positions, It's super late here in NY and I have a raging headache from 3 days of nonstop coverage from my site. Thanks in advance NCommand

Not taking a pure edge/SAM and a Z-WR tells me they're more than comfortable in what we have and we wanna evaluate and give a fair chance to some of these guys already on the squad.

Some of it imo is how the board fell to them. #2 was too high in their eyes for Mike Williams or Corey Davis.

Yeah but still,if they wanted bad enough they could've been ours. That aside, I think we could've made the moves for Jones/Kupp/Henderson etc... Also, Rivers/Willis/Lawson/Hendrickson etc. another reason if you question me, we made moves to get a second and third next year. If we were desperate we don't make those moves cause we like what we have.
OP updated, my man. I have 103. So we'd need to dump 13 to get down to 90.

Nice work NC. Super early projection but great to get a heads up view on things.

Thanks...I always fall in love with a number of UDFA's but this little exercise reminds me that 53 slots is not much at all...if 1-3 UDFA's make a team, that's terrific.

Yeah I feel you ... Gotta look at the LB,DB,wideouts and backs that offer dat special teams values lol. Shanahans run 6 WR in 53 or normally don't?

Another excellent point...ST will play a big factor in this all. That one I'm not sure of...I have a feeling that since we didn't get his Julio Jones, he's going to run far more 2-TE sets and one less WR esp. with OW's like Kyle Juszczyk & George Kittle.
