It just seems odd because of the previous two GMs; one was a lush and the other had some sort of social disease.

No, I don't think that's realistic, but my point was more in terms of his motor and hustle...which Buckner might match but not Armstead so far. Justin made plays down the field to save games...a very rare feat for defensive linemen. Plus he could play inside and out better than any DL I can recall. I hope he makes it to the HofF but it isn't likely given his teams records and not so stellar sack rate.

But Buckner and Armstead have traits that JS did not--height, reach and weight; so they can't be expected to be as agile and mobile. They are anomalies playing on the same DL and the team/defense will largely succeed over the next few years based on their development--along with Thomas. If they don't develop it will be disappointing as they are all mid to high first round picks. Three years in a row means the investment is important in resupplying elite level players. Losing Willis and the Smiths devastated the team, now they have to find those difference makers. Foster may be one but I really worry about a LB with shoulder surgery!

Elite potential? Those three are the best shot going into this coming year.

For sure... Justin smith strip fumble against the eagles in Harbaughs first year LITERALLY turned this franchise around, we started like 3-1 or 4-1 after that game and then we ran away with it. I love AA and Buck on the same team together, they have a partner in crime and daily motivation/competition going against each other. It's a healthy and excellent way for them to grow further. PLEASE GOD, bring us back to relevance and bless us with the upmost health this year to truly see what we have and set the foundation right to show mother truckers the 40 fudging Niners WILL,BE,BACK.

Can't blame him though. His approach to the job has been well received and he is more receptive to the media than the previous GMs. Just look at the video with Peter King.

Eloquence...AMEN...amen...AMEN. A little bit of prayin' never hurt anybody. And the "health prayer" is the one we want to be saying the beads for this yr. We have been so dutifully fkcued by health issues the last three yrs, it is approaching epic criminal proportions. Some of this may have been in coaching, some in the trainer's den, maybe more in the fact we were accumulating a bunch of ACLs , chronic injuries in draft. Whatever, the spell has to break this yr. Kyle and lynch won't allow it. And...we are overdue...way overdue.

The height element could be an interesting bit of this yr's turnaround. Imagine if once a pass is evident, that buck, AA and Solomon, all have their arms up, and if all three are coming, it should look like a damn moving forest coming after the Qb. How does a QB get a pass thru 6 long arms, all close to 9 feet off the ground, and waving around like a bunch of telephone poles. IF that actually comes to pass, (maybe not for Cam), but for shorter guys, it could actually be comical....the opposing QB unable to get a pass thru the sea of oncoming arms. It sure as heck would rattle a qb...and definitely would affect his completions %.

It could turn the QB position into a real adventure.

"...a sort of social disease"....oh, that was a good one, Phoenix. Started laughing and couldn't stop.

Yeah also I think his job is to fix the tarnished brand which would explain the public talks. He has credibility in the league so is a solid spokesperson to fix our image. Hopefully he can also build a team.

Don't you know the value of that video is going to be magnified many times over once potential draft picks see that vid...they are going to see a team with a system, a team that gives a true evaluation of all guys it brings in, and a team that would make for a nice home for talented young players. That video was a thing of beauty, and is going to be heckuva recruiting tool for guys with talent.

Agreed. I like the fact that he's out there like that and putting us in the spotlight.
We will become the NFL darlings again if we have a couple of early wins.

I could be wrong, but I believe Soloman Thomas and Lynch had a college class together lol dead serious

JL was in a class with Solomon during his freshman year. Something like critical thinking and decision making which is ironic. Lynch's oldest son busted his chops for not finishing college after his dad was telling the son about not following through on things he started. That's when JL went back to Stanford to finish his degree.
They sat together during some classes and had lunch together on Tuesdays.
