I'll take Mack as he should be cheaper and would bring the end of career motivation

This looks like the right move. I just hope JH isn't still butt hurt and does whatever he can to stop it.

They just need to lose 2 out of the next 3 games to be pretty much out of it and entertain some offers.

He's gonna be heavily sought after tho so IDK what kind of asking price he will command.

Can't pay more than a day 3 pick for him.

and we have hit on 3rd and beyond way more than an average team

True, 49ers have been very bad in rds 1-2 and very excellent in rds 5-7

Agree with all this. I don't think the 49ers will be big game hunting, they are seeing the results of building through the draft right now. Puni, Green, Halton, Dugger, etc. They trust the process and the 2027 draft is loaded with talent.

Mack for a day 3 pick would be reasonable; I expect the 49ers to find another value trade (think Keion White or Maliek Collins)
supposedly, there aren't as many sellers as people think, which will make for a high price sellers market at the deadline.

Let Jerry Jones spend all his day 1 and 2 picks on trades. I'll take the 49ers making a smart, less sexy trade any day.

IMO there are no big game realistic trade targets to be had as of now, maybe it changes in a couple weeks. I just don't see any valuable must have player out there.

Mack would be a logical get, I do think a team like the Bears might overspend to bring him back.

I would take another under the radar signing like White last yr. Toss in some cheaper vet WR for depth.

Everyone is selling, it's just a matter of price.

Since Lynch makes the Day 1 and Day 2 picks, I'd rather give up one of those.

Yes, we're so smart. And we have won exactly the same number of titles as Jerry in the last 30 years.

Also: what "process" we should trust? We're not rebuilding. We're going for it. Who cares about next year if your aging team is actually having one last tilt at a title? I'll take another decade like the 00s if it means a title this year.

If the right player for us becomes available we should trade for him, and not nickel and dime for which round the picks are.

Yeah I'm starting to think this way too. The window may close soon with the multiple future HoFers that will lose a step in the near future. I'm okay swinging for a big trade at the cost of a day 2 pick. The NFC is there for the taking.

Everyone was crying for Jaelen Phillips last trade deadline. how did that work out for the Eagles? i get it, you want a shiny new toy, but don't trade for players just because you can.
Also, the process is called building through the draft. Good teams do this. You try and improve this year, but also they have to be responsible and try and stay competitive.
Let's meet here after the trade deadline and see who is correct. I'll bet you 49ers don't spend a high pick.

Wrong. It's time to win a Super Bowl. Not to make sure we can contend and not win for the next 10 years.

Yeah, this is the way I feel about it also. I want as many draft picks as we can have for 2027. That said, if a reasonable trade becomes available, I'm all for that, but no way would I be slinging away 1st or 2nd round picks to overpay for a short term rental.

I don't see the Lynch making some type of blockbuster trade tbh. It'll most likely be a trade for someone like JJ imo.

With Brock playing the way he is the window is open for the next decade.
I still think older Bosa is in play and would be a savvy move.
