The Raiders will never trade Maxx Crosby to the Niners.

Yeah anyone from SI is a joke and shouldn't be taken too seriously
Breer is the only one I can think of at SI that I would take seriously.

Wouldn't be shocked. Didn't they just trade for
Jonathan Greenard?

Correct—which is why they have one less 2027 3rd than we do but the 2028 1st probably makes up for that.

I wonder if the Eagles have players to offer? Feels like we only really have Mykel now that Cohn of all people is throwing his name around.
With the way some here feel and on the outside that were just gonna fall off from being a contender.. our 27 first rounder would be more valuable than a low Philly pick in 28

Also, if anyone thinks Lynch is terrible drafting in day 1 and 2, you can take those picks away from him and just throw them at the Raiders for Crosby! Win-Win if you want Crosby

This honestly feels like people operating on old info or the raiders leaking to FOMO a team into increasing their bid

I could definitely see this. I tend to agree with your position that we likely wouldn't want to give up the required level of compensation in a trade and that his contract would be an issue timed with our own players deals (Bosa).

Won't be surprised if he ends up in Philly, who I believe was involved in talks for Garrett as well.

100% This

I think it's unlikely but I just can't see anyone giving them 2 1sts when the Ravens pulled out due to his injury history.

Nobody buys that injury BS. They pulled out get Hendrickson and keep them draft picks.

I'd rather wait to see how our rookie EDGE players look in camp (Height and Kamara), then decide if Bosa or another vet is worth bringing in and taking up a roster spot.

I'd be pretty disappointed in our FO if we traded anything significant for Crosby.

Idk if it's true or not but I also didn't buy their GM saying they wanted both Crosby and Hendrickson when they didn't even have him agreed to terms until the deal fell through but I do believe that they won't get 2 1sts for him with that knee injury

Maxx Crosby admitted it on his podcast. He said he went to the Ravens facility on March 10th went through the physical testing with the team. Then he had MRIs, X-Rays, and other tests. The Ravens had already been in contact with Crosby's medical team and it was explained to the Ravens that his meniscus injury wasn't going to inhibit him in 2026. Crosby would do the handshakes with those in the organization before the scheduled meeting to go over the physical. While Crosby was hyped up, he started to notice the vibes were off on the Ravens side. GM Eric DeCosta avoided meeting with Crosby before their scheduled meeting. Crosby did meet Ravens HC Jesse Minter. Crosby went to dab up Minter and Minter just stared at him with a blank face. Minter didn't appear excited with what was happening. Crosby would attend the meeting shortly after which is when DeCosta joined them. In the room were other Ravens execs and the team doctors. The doctors informed Crosby he failed his physical and the workup showed long-term concerns with a degenerative issue they had noticed. The Ravens informed Crosby that they would seek out more opinions on the results of his physical then get back to him.

Crosby immediately left the Ravens facility and headed back to his hotel. He called his agent, CJ LaBoy, and his surgeon, Neal ElAttrache. On the calls, Crosby said he was freaking out and thought something had gone wrong with his previous surgery. He was afraid of getting another surgery to correct any issues. Later that evening, a Ravens exec called up Crosby and told him they were still trying to work out how to move forward. Minutes after that call, LaBoy called Crosby and told him the trade was off. The Ravens were backing out. Crosby was pissed off, packed up, and flew back to Vegas that night. The next day, Crosby was back at the Raiders facility and working out.

The injury concerns from the Ravens was real. Here's the source, Maxx Crosby himself

Here's the reporting from the Athletic covering it - https://archive.is/gHglL

Edit - Schefter reported more info on who the Ravens sought for a 2nd opinion.

Schefter also reported what Crosby's own surgeon said to ESPN

Before it was "minor meniscus repair". Then it was this.
surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee.
All the twitter docs people love to quote were saying this was indicating arthritis and a possible degenerative issue

You're speculating.

No one knows whether the Ravens:

A) were genuinely concerned with the findings of the MRI and nixed the deal because of it

or

B) used the MRI as cover after getting cold feet.

I'm not sure anyone can claim one way or the other, other than the Ravens at this point.

Brother, CROSBY himself said he was told by the Ravens they had long terms concerns with his knee. If you think I'm speculating, then you also think CROSBY himself is speculating. The level of denial in the fanbase these days is wild.
