Once again Lynch and Shanny are bridesmaids.
We just watched Seattle win a SB in our stadium and now we watched LA get the best player in the game.
They aggressively got Stafford which lead to a SB and now they have the best team in the league with Garrett. Throw Garrett on that DLine? Good luck.
We can't score more than 6 points vs McDonald and Seattle and now the Rams have Garrett while we drafted a 3rd round receiver with the 33rd pick who won't see the field and a 5th round RB in round 3 who won't get touches over CMC.
Just brilliant roster building from these two geniuses. Nothing has changed with these guys.
-Take Solomon Thomas at 1.3
-Trade DeForest Buckner
-Draft Javon Kinlaw
-Trade 3- 1sts for Trey Lance
-Choose Jimmy G over Tom Brady
-Let the Rams trade for Stafford
-Draft 3 RB's in round 3/4 for 3 years in a row and two of them lasted a year
-Do it again this year with a guy ranked as a 5th round prospect
-Extend Aiuyk instead of trading him for a 2 and a player
-Never upgrade the Oline in a division with the Rams and Seahawks
-Multiple draft busts from rounds 1-3 every single year
It's absolutely mind blowing how these guys still have a job.
You feel better now that you got it out?
Feels like you missed a few moves there...
He's not wrong. It's just facts.
Context is everything.
Here...
-Take Solomon Thomas at 1.3
a move that was praised by virtually everyone at the time, including their trade down from #2 to acquire extra picks, one of which ended up being Fred Warner
-Trade DeForest Buckner
They made a business decision given the salary cap and the needs to extend players like Kittle, Warner, Armstead, Deebo, Trent Williams + sign depth pieces
-Draft Javon Kinlaw
Pick itself wasn't anything crazy. The issue was his health concerns should've had him off our board but he's still playing and starting in the NFL.
-Trade 3- 1sts for Trey Lance
We all agree this is a terrible move
-Choose Jimmy G over Tom Brady
They didn't chose Jimmy G over Tom Brady. They chose to stick with Jimmy G who was coming off a season he had the 49ers in the SB and turning 29, while Tom Brady was about to turn 43.
-Let the Rams trade for Stafford
This is a straight up stupid take. How exactly do you want the 49ers to stop the Lions from trading with the Rams? Lions weren't even getting back to the 49ers. What do you want them to do hold them at gunpoint?
-Draft 3 RB's in round 3/4 for 3 years in a row and two of them lasted a year
Ok
-Do it again this year with a guy ranked as a 5th round prospect
Maybe we should wait to see how he looks first?
-Extend Aiuyk instead of trading him for a 2 and a player
Aiyuk was a great player. It was the right decision to extend him. Nobody could predict he would get injured and then completely ghost the team
-Never upgrade the Oline in a division with the Rams and Seahawks
Another lie. Just because you don't know the players they added or give them a chance to show what they can do doesn't mean they didn't upgrade the OL
-Multiple draft busts from rounds 1-3 every single year
Another overreaction. Every team has draft busts in rounds 1-3. 49ers are no different.
Here are things he left out...
Tied for most All Pros drafted since taking over the team in 2017 with the Ravens
Drafted George Kittle in the 5th round
Drafted DJ Jones in the 6th round
Drafed Fred Warner in the 3rd round
Drafted DJ Reed in the 5th round
Drafted Dre Greenlaw in the 5th round
Drafted Colton McKivitz in the 5th round
Drafted Jauan Jennings in the 7th round
Drafted Lenoir and Hufanga in the 5th round
Drafted Brock Purdy in the 7th round
These are all elite, high level or better than solid starters in the later rounds.
Traded for Trent Williams, CMC, Laken Tomlinson - all critical pieces to our teams at the time they were on the roster. Trent and CMC absolutely elite level players.
Offered a better deal for Khalil Mack than Raiders took from Chicago. Tried to trade for Aaron Rodgers twice and got denied by the Packers.
That doesn't even include their smaller trades.
The last 3 drafts are still up in the air in terms of where they stand. We all get the Lance move and pick were terrible. The worst drafts we had were related to that selection. Stop getting all worked up to the point where you can't keep things straight.
