That's what I'm saying. You're agreeing with my main point.
The Rams just keep making big moves over and over again for 10 years now since they got to LA and every single time I'm told "it's okay they'll fall apart in 2 years they're going all in and not thinking about the future etc etc" and here they are 10 years later they're still contenders. They had ONE reset year in 2022 and that was it. One.
I'm just saying maybe our FO should stop being so hesitant. We're hoarding cap space and draft picks and for what, exactly? So we can draft a bunch of players two rounds early and essentially destroy the value of the picks themselves anyway? So we can have enough cap space for the one in a million splash move that may come along but never does? Because we're afraid we might have a Trey Lance trade but still be fine on the field?
I'm just sick and tired of people saying "well the Rams sure gave up a lot though…" no **** and it NEVER seems to bother and bite them. We have 10 years of data now since they got to Los Angeles and started to make massive moves all the time. I don't think they regret a single one, not even the occasional bad one!
First of all Rams haven't won anything again yet so let's see how this unfolds for them.
Also what are we saving draft picks for? So we can get guys like Jared Verse...who the Rams used as the main part of their trade for Garrett.
That was the biggest thing for the Rams. During their rebuild they managed to land some terrific players. Byron Young, Kobie Turner and Puka in 2023. Then got Verse to fall to them in 2024. Incredible lucky by them and Seattle to get the defenders they got in that class because the top half of hte first round went offense heavy.
We just made terrible decisions at the worst time with the Lance trade because not only was he a huge bust for us but cost us a ton of draft capital and that draft actually had some terrific players available at our own pick. Forget sticking around for Mac Jones who in hindsight likely would've been a better pick but Micah Parsons and Rashawn Slater went right there...
It sucks but it is what it is. Team still had a chance to win SBs and just couldn't do it, in part because of impact injuries. 2023 was our healthiest season and yet we had Greenlaw blow his achilles running onto the field. Finally found a solid vet who made our OL much better in Feliciano and he leaves the game then his backup misses key blocks and straight up goes with his gut and doesn't block their best player when we had a wide open TD dialed up. Like come on...
