That's not accurate. We started by targeting Chris Ballard, who was 'attached' to Josh McDaniels… a target of the 49ers through multiple hiring cycles. He declined the interview (which was publicly announced as a refusal by the Chiefs to let him interview) before ultimately being hired by the Colts (where he briefly landed McDaniels before he backed out a year later IIRC).

The GM/coaching search was such a clusterf**k that Denise got involved and interviewed Tom Cable.

What's going on with Pregnon? I thought the Niners would take him in the 2nd and then they passed him up again when he was there in the 3rd. He was considered one of the top interior O linemen in this draft. Why are teams passing on him? Has anyone heard anything about why he's still there?
