Lucked into Shanahan but Lynch as a GM? Wtf?? So many qualified GMs 49ers interviewed...and in the end - they decided to hire a guy who has ZERO experience working in a NFL Front Office. He has ZERO experience as a scout at any level. I understand, so many potential GM candidates rejected 49ers. But, to hire a guy who has never held a position that is in no way related to a day-2-day job profile of a GM is unbelievable. I'm sure Lynch is a smart guy...he was a smart player...but that has NOTHING to do with being a GM. Why take the risk at this time? --------------- edit: After having some time to digest this news...wish him all the best and I hope he proves ppl wrong. Still don't understand why we needed to take such a risk but it is what it is now. I do have to say - his first presser made a positive impression.

AI actually operates under assumption that high frequency of something is more likely to be the right answer.

What I'm trying to say is, AI would not deviate from consensus boards much if barely. Especially if it's trained on concept of value, which seems very amiss in the Niners front office.

Kyle runs this team and the picks and personnel. That's why he hired a yes man in Lynch. WR in the 1st when we didn't need one and it's even a reach. LOL. That has Shany written all over it. He's always just 1 more WR away while ignoring other positions.

Jed and Paraag tried to hire multiple candidates prior to Lynch reaching out to Kyle for the job.

Those candidates either refused to interview (Chris Ballard) or dropped out after interviewing.

Kyle likely isn't even the coach if the top of this organization successfully landed their first target.

You don't have great options when the job isn't appealing and you're backed into the corner.

KS was the coach no doubt. We hired him them began the search for a GM. Other gm's declined b/c the normal process was to hire the gm and let him pick the coach.
