Mmm, yes, kind of. But, of course, once we take, say, an OT in the first, we still have needs at edge and WR. And the question will then be, what can we get to cover either edge or WR with our 2nd? I suspect that there will be reasonable options at WR long after the prospects at edge have gone. Or perhaps it is another way round? Or maybe the best option ends up as signing Joey Bosa and covering the other needs by the available picks?

looking forward to the draft!

Absolutely should not be taking a wr on day 1 or 2.

It's this kind of thinking that stopped us taking CD Lamb, if they're the best player on the board outside of QB or RB you take them.

These discussions we see on this forum over who should they pick first are the same ones Kyle and Lynch are having and will have right up until the pick is made.

They took Aiyuk in that same first round. Not suggesting they should reach for need but if a wr is the top guy available then trade down.

Glynch / Shnanny probably hate that they can't ignore O line and secondary like clockwork... they're kinda forced into paying more attention since both units were (recently) severely abused and exposed twice by the cucks

The last 2x they played them they were a shell of themselves due to injury.

You are not being honest with this post.

Also how have they ignored the secondary? They're constantly drafting DBs, they've paid DBs in FA and our own.

overall with OL they weren't as bad as everyone whines about. We got two good OTs, good young RG and a center who's mid but not as bad as some constantly say.

they need to start tossing some more picks at OL overall, but it's not like they didn't trade for Trent, spend money for Richburg, top 10 pick on McG, brought in Mack, spent at top 50 pick on Banks, just paid Colton etc etc. they've invested though out the yrs. Gotta start investing again there

I'm assuming that a deal is going to get done soon with Trent Williams and so they will kick the can down the road again on OT. That said, there is a glaring hole at LG so I'm sure some interior OL is going to get drafted. Will it before rounds 1-3? Doubtful.

As a team the 49ers have one of the oldest offenses in the league. They are compensating for that by having one of the youngest defences in the league, so there is a method to their madness. Regardless, the 49ers need to start getting younger on offense and I'd expect some early picks to go there. I'd really like the team to find another RB who's good enough to get on the field (Price? Mike Washington? Emmett Johnson?). They need some juice. I suspect they're going to take another kick at the WR can despite whiffing on Cowing (lets face it, the guy isn't on the field for a reason) and possibly Watkins.

Evans is 33 & on what could be 1yr deal,Kirk is on a 1yr deal & Pearsall hasn't been able to stay healthy and everything after that is a huge question mark at best,so if a WR is clearly the top player available they shouldnt just automatically pass on him.

Don't forget about Demarcus Robinson (if were playing the Eagles) 😂

Yet those 3 guys are all more proven than every secondary player but Lenoir. Hell even Robinson is.

If the 9ers go wr and ol in first two rounds and do nothing but sign Bosa and add late round picks on D this will be an exceedingly mediocre defense again.

true but that still doesn't justify passing up a superior talent and forcing the pick out of need thats how you end up with the likes of.Kinlaw, this team needs young difference makers regardless of the position.

Robinson was completely irrelevat outside of the Eagles game so I would hardly consider him proven on this team.

The same could be said about the Offense if they don't improve the line and suffer any significant injuries at WR.

No one wants to pass on a need pick for a Xavier Leggett level player, just don't want to pass on any great players because of need. That should always be the goal, add great players

Insane ridiculous thinking. Evans is practically signed for 1 year and is 33 and Kirk is signed for 1, then banking on Cowing and Watkins isn't smart

Assuming we have the same level of injury as last year. Otherwise, no.
I wish we could re-sign our guys as easily as other teams do.

That becomes an issue when you have 5 or 6 guys making or about to make $20 million or more per season. The constant reworking of contracts eventually catches up to you.
