Everyone is happy with this off-season.....until we play the Seahawks and we realize again that our O-line is garbage against real competition. Then we complain about our O-line and demand a better unit for next season.......until they sign a receiver and a pass-rusher and everyone forgets again that the O-line is the main issue of this team.

We keep repeating the cycle over and over with this ringless regime.

I don't think anyone forgot about the issues at Oline. I've seen almost 99% of the posters on here want the oline to improve. Just because we're not crying about it 24/7 doesn't mean we don't want it to happen. Also add in we could cry in here 24/7 for the next 5 years, it would do absolutely nothing since it won't affect their decisions. If they want to address the Oline they will, its as simple as that. If they don't then we hope that it works out at the end. That being said we can be happy about the other issues this team has tried to improve this off season, which is why some are happy.

The team really helped themselves but as usual we're top heavy. Still need good young depth and guys who can replace players when they're out or aging out. I'd be surprised if we stick with all the picks we have and my bet is we move back at least once if not multiple times.

Would like us to bring in edge help and maybe more competition for LG(not sure we have a true starter to rely on right now there)

I think if the right guy was there they would still draft a DT, they love rotating them and we've already lost Davis. I do agree with it being a bit top heavy, and the problem is that a lot of those guys are ageing, if you look at other rosters around the league for teams who have paid their QB, something has to give. Bills and Chiefs have decided to strip the offense and rely on their superstar QB's to carry it. Worked for a bit for the Chiefs, Bills have just fired their HC.

Bengals chose to strip the Defense, hasn't worked. Eagles are managing to draft good players and do some cap mischief which is working fairly well for them. Rams are acquiring and flipping draft assets. Cowboys stripped the defense. Dolphins and Browns ate the money and are dumpster fires!

We've gone for a stars and scrubs model, the plan is clearly to keep high paid (ageing) stars and supplement them from the draft, we've just not really had the drafted talent comme to the top yet. If Collins and West are good we're laughing on the D-Line. We've drafted safeties, they're just not great. If Mykel is good we're good at edge.

We don't even need to draft superstars, as unless one of our other superstars leaves the roster we won't be able to afford their 2nd contract, we just need good players to supplement. The strategy can work, we only need a superstar when one of ours is replaced.
We still need a pass rusher and a good backup to Mccaffrey

sign all three. then we can start having Bingo tournaments at the facility, and serve dinner at 4:30 pm. Lights out at 7:30 pm. We don't want the players to get too much excitement.

Offseason isn't over yet. Our issues vs Seattle weren't strictly OL based. Skill positions and lack of threat there made things a lot easier for that defense of theirs.

I find it hard to believe the team is thrilled with where their OL is right now. I don't see a single clear starter at LG. Trent Williams is once again pushing for more money and not getting any younger. McKivitz is under contract for I think another season and Brendel is less than stellar and is no spring chicken either.

Are we dead in the water with this OL assuming who we have are playing and not injured? No. But I also would be surprised if we ignore OL moving forward in FA, draft or potential trade option.

O line is in a better place than the secondary is. Secondary can't stop the Titans let alone the Seahawks. Pass rush isn't going to magically fix the fact the secondary has one functional starter at the moment.

Yes, but fans have a right to express their frustrations. Afterall, fans are the ones that foot the bill. Team officials get asked questions from reporters, talk show hosts, streamers etc. where some well informed fans go to express their concerns.

What everyone forgets or blatantly ignores is that everything works together. Our wide receivers could not get open or any separation. This makes Brock hold the ball a split second longer causing the line to hold blocks longer. Adding legitimate wide receivers will allow Brock to get rid of the ball quicker making the oline much better. This allows us to throw the ball more which lightens up the box and allows the run game to get going. Brock became the starter because he could read defenses quickly and get the ball out fast. You cannot do that when no one on the team is open. This causes the oline to look even worse. Now this does not mean that we do not need to get better at oline but getting better elsewhere helps.

Yes, fans have every right to express their frustrations, but his post seems to point to why we're happy about the off season and not showing frustration. Which I easily explained why were not showing frustrations and happy at times.

What would you suggest? Should we have spent 27m on Lindebaum? O-Line contracts in Free agency are crazy. I agree we need to add talent, but we have at least added depth. Hopefully they take a shot or two in the draft. I still think Kolby might develop into something and if not Bartch should be healthy, so it might be better than last year without doing anything.

That contract is nuts too, it's basically a 3yr fully GTD deal, they can't cut him next year and save money, his 2028 salary becomes GTD early in March 2027, I would NEVER do that deal, LV had to overpay to get him, just not worth it, that's LT money, not C money IMO, he's making $9M a yr more than the next C.

Yeah, I get they need to pay a bad team tax, but that is nuts. Guards get crazy money in free agency as well, the only one I'd have been interested in is Elgton Jenkins but he's just come off a huge injury
