This is true to a degree but you have to look at if from a realistic perspective.
They are slightly more talented but wayyyyy younger. So realistically even if you add a piece or two and pull it back to even one of our vets will get hurt and we will be behind again.
The only way to compete is going to be to get way younger. Ie were in purgatory where you might as well start tearing off the old garb and get what you can before they are worth nothing.
I'm sorry it's going to have to be bye bye Trent, bye bye mcaffrey, bye bye juice, bye bye jennings then entertaining offers for bosa, kittle, and warner.
The only untouchable should be purdy at this point...
Uh, we were 10 points away from being the 1 seed in the nfc. You're also just throwing a blanket on the age thing. Seahawks are approximately .7 years younger than the niners. If you're going on age alone, they're older at QB, older at DT, older at WR, and so on.
I DO agree that we need to build through draft and supplement via FA/trades (as your vaunted Seahawks and rams did!)
NFL is the strangest league of the pro sports year to year. Teams come out of nowhere every year, competitors in week 1 disappears every year. Nothing would much surprise me in the NFL.
Seattle will take a step back next year. Losing Kubiak is going to be HUGE. That D is for real but Kubiak masked a lot of Darnold's deficiencies. Plus the reality of just how difficult it is to repeat in this league. I also think they lose Kenneth Walker who was an absolute stud. Charbonnet looked good as 1B but how will he look as the guy moving forward?
Regarding our roster, entertaining offers for Bosa, Kittle & Warner right now is dumb. All 3 are coming off serious injury thus their value is lower. Kittle should retire a Niner, too close to the end for him, still extremely productive when healthy & heart of the O. Warner still very much in prime, has been a durable player & is heart of D. Now no knee Bosa, let him come back healthy, have another 10+ sack season then trade him before his next & final big contract. We then might get a similar return like Crosby. I think we have seen the best of Bosa (DPOY version) & I doubt he gets back to that level due to his injuries.
